The Morning Meeting: Burris, Gaza, Russia’s Gas Ploy & C-Section Overuse?
Some slogans, causes, headlines, etc from a Wednesday morning:
Open Gaza to relief officials!
Open Gaza to journalists!
Punish Russia for using natural gas as a political weapon!
Stop too-early, elective C-sections!
and, please:
No more snow for Spokane!
There’s a lot going on. In the meantime we are waiting for two interesting events on the President-elect’s agenda today: a news conference within the hour, and then a White House luncheon Mr. Obama is having shortly thereafter, with Jimmy Carter, George H. W. Bush, Bill Clinton and George W. Bush. Or, for those who keep count, 39, 41, 42, 43, and soon-to-be 44, having a bite to eat. Wouldn’t we like to be flies on the wall? (Of course, probably not too many flies in the White House Private Dining Room).
Stay tuned…

Julius Caesar came into the world that way but I have been hearing for years that there are more C-sections than are medically justified. An honest independent debate on the question would do good.

C-sections are overused. Sometimes for doctor convenience. I believe that epidurals also increase the risk because of the numbing effect on that part of the body.
