The Most Popular Man on Facebook: C.B. ‘Sully’ Sullenberger
ABC News’ Kristi Berner reports:
It’s a sign of the times…as I write this blog there are 37 groups (and growing) on Facebook devoted to being a fan of the heroic U.S. Airways pilot who landed his crippled plane in the Hudson River yesterday. The largest group grew from about 5,900 fans to 6,500 fans in the two minutes it took me to read through the names of the 37 groups. Right now two fan groups are vying for the most members. Group "Captain C.B. Sully Sullenberger" now has 9,227 fans and "Fans of Sully Sullenberger!" has 6,430. Some have more creative names like "Three Cheers for Sully" and "I want Chelsey Burnett "Sully" Sullenberger III to be my pilot when I fly." At least two of the groups are in Spanish. New Yorkers always love a hero, and they are already embracing the California-based pilot as one of their own, with "Sully Sullenberger for NY Senate Seat." If Sully could (and wanted to) quickly get New York residency — watch out Caroline Kennedy!

This pilot did a great job. The pictures of the folks standing on the submerged wings are incredible.

This man’s credentials are impeccable! There is no substitute for experience and maturity. Sully proves the point. I hope American businesses wake up and realize that the best talent out there is being overlooked-those over 50.

This pilot and his co-pilot did a wonderful, awesome job of bringing this plane down! I have a brother who is a former pilot, who had nothing but praise for “these guys”! The pictures were quite awesome! We think God was working through Mr. Sullenberger, and with him, and all the boat personnell, everyone who had a part in this awesome rescue! May God continue to bless everyone involved, and may God help everyone to get through this ordeal!

N QUESTION this heroic man did a fantastic job of landing the plane and making sure that everyone got off it. BUt, we must also remember the other heros who scooped them out of the freezing waters before it was too late! They are the ferry boat crew, tug boat crew, fire dept, helicopter pilots, EMTs, etc who worked furiously and as a team to rescue everyone within minutes. God bless.

Don’t forget the Ferry boat captains that were at the plane within minutes and assisted everyone on to the boats. They didn’t even hesitate as is evidenced by the pictures. They came to action with professionalism and a real sense of caring.
