Inside the Bailout: “He’s Going to Start Snapping”
FOX News got its hands on over 10,000 of internal Treasury Department documents related to the bailout, a.k.a. the Troubled Assets Relief Program. The documents were redacted, but FOX managed to elicit a few choice passages. For example, an email exchange featuring Treasury press officer Jennifer Zuccarelli giving play-by-play as she watched her boss, TARP chief Neel Kashkari, get savaged by lawmakers during a Congressional hearing: “Bad. Serious questions, too, not “chump” type questions. They’re going to start to break Neel down soon, I’m getting worried he’s going to start snapping,” Zuccarelli writes in one email obtained by FOX. “They killed him on exec comp. He didn’t know answer,” she wrote later. (h/t TPMmuckraker.com)
