ABC News Radio to offer special series: The Class of 2009: What Now?
ABC News Radio will offer a five part special series, “The Class of 2009: What Now?” from May 4th through May 8th. The series will explore the options the estimated 1.6 million students graduating this spring will come across. With the unemployment rate at 8.5% and loans from the four years of tuition, ABC News Radio takes an in-depth look at topics graduates face today. On Monday, May 4th, Aaron Katersky reports on whether or not an Ivy League education helps to achieve a dream job. On Tuesday, May 5th, Steven Portnoy reports if an expensive university is worth its price. ABC News Radio’s Matt Gutman investigates if graduates of community colleges are better off since they do not incur major expenses. ABC News Radio’s Jim Ryan reports on the labor market for those who do not have a college degree, Thursday, May 7th. Finally, on Friday, May 8th, ABC News Radio’s Alex Stone discovers what 18, 19 and 20 year olds are learning from college graduates who have been looking for work and struggling to find work.
