Quotes Of The Day

“Cuba’s not invited to the big party in Trinidad and Tobago, but it will crash it anyway…It’ll be the pesky ghost at the table, pushing, shoving and booing — all in an effort to derail President Barack Obama’s first foray Friday into Latin America’s often messy love-hate relationship with the United States.” — The Miami Herald’s Myriam Marquez

"The embargo has been in place since before President Obama and I were born. And the Cuban regime is still there. I think it’s time to ask if maybe the strategy hasn’t worked too well. I don’t believe that it has." – Mexican President Felipe Calderon

"It could be easy to think maybe of trying to change the circumstances. No one would know. No one would ever know." — Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, on how she felt when she was pregnant

"Who would have thought a truck could get good gas mileage? It’s possible with any vehicle, big or small." Morgan Dresser, 26, quoted in The Wall Street Journal about learning to "eco-drive"

Sarah Palin’s comment on people knowing or not knowing about something.
A central problem in ethics: Does soemthing become right because no one knows about it? There are people who consider abortion profoundly wrong even if no one knows: you know and you have a conscience. On the other hand, there are those who think that an abortion is a personal decision and the fact that you tell no one does not at all mean that you have hidden it, as criminals do with their crimes.

I cant understand why the Reps.are angry that Obama is tring to get the nation out of the tril.dl$ dedt that they helped create and spend. It will take money to pay off the sickning debt that has amassed over the decades. NO country will except chickens and eggs for the bill to be paid. Either way we owe big and we have to pay up to get any returns of favor for future aide. But I do not agree paying industies for there greedy lavish spending habits. I agree paying the working class people who keep things afloat. I hate that many people are against taxes too simply because there is no way to pay for rebuilding any economical structure unless the ones doing the building set up a means to pay for it. The black hole that this country are in is because somebody didnt pay the bills along the way.
