Stanford Update: Whole Lotta Probin’ Goin’ On

It's well-known that the SEC and Department of Justice are pursuing Sir Allen Stanford, who is expected to face criminal charges stemming from his alleged multi-billion-dollar Ponzi scheme. But those two entities are hardly the only ones with an interest in the guy. The court-appointed receiver, Ralph Janvey, said he has responded to information requests and investigations from "[the] Department of Justice, the Internal Revenue Service, the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Postal Inspector, the Department of Labor, the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, the Department of the Treasury and the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System," in a report released late last week. "At the state level, [requestors] have included at least 24 different state securities and banking regulators in at least 19 states," he noted.
