The Captain Has Landed!
Captain Richard Phillips is back on US soil. His plane has touched down in Burlington, Vermont.
The plan was for his wife and mother to greet him at a private room in the airport. But it seems they couldn’t wait. The two ran out to the plane on the tarmac and soon could be seen emerging with Phillips.
The town of Underhill is the Captain’s next stop. Signs adorn his home. The community has been awaiting this moment with a mixture of joy and pride.
And what will the captain be having for dinner tonight?
Chicken pot pie (made by a friend), a beer and cookies made by his mother-in-law.

Why did ABC stop the Oprah show for this event? It is NOT news. Whoever made the call, made a very poor decision. Can we Oprah fans expect to see the remainder of the Friday show, which was live, played on the Evening News?

Oh, you have GOT to be kidding me, NJ Mom! I love Oprah as much as anyone…but, I can’t believe you think today’s Oprah show TRUMPS the arrival of a hero ship captain. Get a grip, lady. This guy and his family have been through hell in the past few weeks. I say it’s GREAT to see such a heart-warming news item on television!!!!
