Che Guevara’s Granddaughter Poses Half Naked for PETA
ABC's Efty Katsareas reports from London: In a PETA campaign scheduled to launch in October, Che Guevara’s 24 year-old granddaughter, Lydia, poses half naked with the tag line ‘join the vegetarian revolution.’ The bearded image of the Argentinian-born Marxist has been featured on t-shirts, hats and posters on university campuses across the world for decades. In ‘Che: Part 1 & 2′ released in 2008, Steven Soderbergh gave us a four-and-a-half hour biopic (that’s a half-day’s work) exploring Che’s contribution to the Cuban revolution. Big names including Benicio del Toro and Julia Ormond were recruited by the Hollywood director. Released four years earlier, the hugely popular ‘Motorcycle Diaries’ recounted Che’s (born Ernesto Guevara) trip across South America and propelled its young Mexican protagonist, Gael Garcia Bernal, into stardom. Now, PETA’s first South American campaign starring Che’s grand-daughter proves once again that the Che name has world wide appeal. The campaign is expected to hit Argentina this October in the form of magazine advertisements and posters. It features a tanned, shirtless Lydia wearing only a red beret and camouflage pants. Across her chest, she is strapped with a bandoleer of carrot cartridges and her closed fist points upwards in homage to her famous grandfather. Apparently, the animal rights organization PETA contacted Guevara after finding out she’s a committed vegetarian. Music legend and vegetarian Paul McCartney has taken up PETA’s cause against the fast-food giant KFC after accusations that the company was mistreating chickens. Hollywood celebrities Forest Whittaker and Alicia Silverstone have also joined PETA’s cause.

PETA is the biggest bunch of phonies I’ve ever seen! When they murder dogs by the hundreds, they have NO credibility!

KFC is mistreating chickens? Is that before or after they chop the heads off?

I know it’s wrong to eat meat because animals are now part of an industrial factory rather than raised on farms. I am not against killing animals for food but I’d like their lives to be as happy and painless as possible before the end. At least in hunting the deer lives free before being shot, as long as the meat is eaten I see nothing wrong with hunting. Why is it okay to torture animals to feed us? Don’t all living things which are God’s creatures deserve some respect and concern? I am able to buy free range chicken but what about other meats?

I have no problems with vegetarians … I am eating less meat these days myself. What I’d like to ask PETA is where do you stand on the abortion issue? Why are chickens and all other animals more important than a fellow human? They lose all credibility when they are behind every animal rights issue, but when it comes to the most basic of human rights – the right to be born, the silence is deafening.

Hi MC .
I totally agreen with you . I am aganist killing babies. and for those of you who say that “the fetus is not alive yet”, well if it is not living , then how come it is growing?
Abortion is a horrible criminal act against a human being.
I am not even religious. I just know right from wrong. People need to have respect for life.
This has nothing to do with God or religion,.
Even if there is no God .
I would still not kill an unborn child.
It is just inhumane and sick and cruel and selfish to have an abortion.

Che Guevara ran Castro’s death squads, lining people who disagreed with them up against a wall and ordering them to be shot. He was the champion of a failed ideology and a ruthless executioner, the Cubans call him “the butcher of La Cabaña . He was totally insane to boot. Che said that if Castro’s Cuba had been in control of the Soviet nuclear missiles they would have fired them all off. Anyone who wears a T-Shirt with Che’s image on it is a complete moron and should be called out on it. Most of these dumb kids don’t have a clue what Che stood for or did in the name of Marxism again a failed ideology. Why doesn’t PETA try to find Pol Pot’s granddaughter or maybe Hitler’s niece or a close relative of the Son of Sam serial killer to pose for them. Knuckleheads.

PETA is against the killing of Chickens but the hire the granddaughter of a mass murderer, an executioner, a killer of human beings to represent them? What a bunch morons, they don’t even know how stupid they are.

I don’t know about PETA sometimes or about KFC’s treatment of chickens, but I am thinking about getting a recession chicken merely for the eggs. I believe PETA may give me a pass.

Why is everyone turning this into an abortion debate. Jeeez. This is about an attractive Argentinean Woman, Che’s grandaughter, who is posing semi-nude for Peta. Ok, if everyone watched documentaries about what goes on in a Corporate Slaughter House you would be appalled. To a lot of you maybe these animals are not AS valuable as a human but still a creature, defensless, with feeling…yes people…animals have feelings they express pain and happiness and fear. Why should anything be treated so half hazardly. I cannot fathom how we treat animals, the planet, other human beings the way we do.

I think all of PETAs members are sharing one brain.

PETA…it is a respected organization all for a good cause. One does not need to stop eating meat. PETA just wants us to become more humane to the animals being raised for our consumption. I have not eaten beef for the last 15 years. I saw how cows are herded right on top of one another on their way to the slaughterhouse. Once there, the inhumanity of the pain inflicted to these helpess animals will turn your stomach and make you cry which I did. They are very intelligent animals. They know when they are being “herded” to be slaughtered. They look at you with hose big eyes and all you see is terror as you’ll never see in your life..it is very sad and it really is cruelty..I will eat free range chicken or farm raised fish, and, once in a while I will eat some pork which is treated a bit more humane than the cows; but that is it. There are many legumes with plenty of protein and there is rice, roots, vegetables which are much healthier anyway. Please protest the inhumane treatment of these defenseless animals!

The ones who don’t even have a clue as to how stupid they are-are those who don’t care that animals are treated so cruelly!!

PETA is all about raising money, not protecting animals

Cool your jets, Joe! As you said, she’s the granddaughter and NOT Che himself. If she’s against cruelty to animals then she’s good PETA material.

I have never paid much attention to Peta, as I found their causes to be rather silly. I guess some folks are rather cruel to animals, but animals are cruel to animals. Much more than humans. Some animals are just food for other animals – the same for birds and fish. Humans eat all three. They always have, and they always will, in spite of Peta and other such organizations.
The recent bit about President Obama’s killing a fly is so asinine that it is hard to believe anyone would put it on the air. I don’t know who is the worse, Peta for making a complaint, or the networks for dwelling on it.

This is one way for good health.
In other words, majority of world people are non-vegetarians.
Please assume, if we will not eat fish, chicken, beef, pork, mutton, then there will a separate kingdom of animals.
There will be a shortage of space for humans.
Vegetarian diets are good.
We can create awareness of more merits of eating fresh vegetables, fresh fresh water, fresh fruits for longevity.

It says a lot about the mentality of PETA that they would invoke the memory and image of a butcher of human beings in order to promote their cause against the butchery of animals.

Che and PETA. Perfectly synonymous with murder and fanaticism. Scums of the Earth.

Why is this carrot carrying babe important? Because she is the granddaughter of Che, right? This is all she got, and Peta hopes that her last name will promote their agenda. So, here is the catch – her grandpa was slaughtering people mercilessly, and she comes out now to convince us not to slaughter animals. Is it like “don’t do to cows what my grandpa did to you” kind of a thing?

So how would PETA bring about this world they envision. With no meat eaters? NO ANIMALS. Simple. After all it’s bad and they fart and destroy the planet too. Imbiciles. Then they hire this blood related bimbo of Che? True colors show through.
