‘King of Pop’ Topping i-Tunes Charts

ABC’s Kristi Berner reports:

Michael Jackson is no longer able to carry out his comeback tour, but he’s certainly making a huge comeback on music charts a day after his death. Jackson albums are the top 7 albums on iTunes (and 12 out of the top 19).

1. The Essential Michael Jackson
2. Thriller
3. Number Ones
4. Off the Wall
5. Thriller (25th Anniversary)
6. Bad
7. Michael Jackson: The Ultimate Collection

Within hours of his death, Jackson occupied the top 15 slots on online retailer Amazon.com’s best-selling albums. The No. 1 disc on Amazon is the 25th Anniversary reissue of his 1982 blockbuster “Thriller,” the biggest selling album in history with an estimated worldwide sales of nearly 50 million copies.

Before his death, Jackson’s Sony Music label said he sold an estimated 750 million records worldwide, and released 13 No. 1 singles.
