Michael Jackson’s Song About the Drug Demerol

It is on his album "Blood on the Dance Floor"…

Michael Jackson writes about the drug Demerol:

Demerol
Demerol
Oh God he's taking demerol
Demerol
Demerol
Oh God he's taking demerol

He's tried
Hard to convince her
To be over what he had
Today he wants it twice as bad
Don't cry
I won't resent you
Yesterday you had his trust
Today he's taking twice as much

Demerol
Demerol
Oh God he's taking demerol
Hee-hee-hee
Demerol
Demerol
Oh my Oh God it's Demerol
Hee
Oooh

it’s like a clue into his life, isn’t it. Not able to take pain, he takes medicines, strong ones.

Wow, what lyrics!
The intellect they expose is beyond belief.
I wonder what Joni thinks of wordsmith prowess such as this.

This is only the bridge of the song. The song is called “Morphine,” and the rest of the lyrics are equally moving and biopic.

“Oh..Ok, now that explains a lot..I got the total understanding of him now..

The LA police have seized the car of the cardiologist who was the last physician to see him at his home. While foul play is not at all suspected, they still wish to interview the cardiologist. Nothing seems straightforward.

Now…..you would think that those closest to him…would have been able to read between the lines to catch that. We..the world had no clue! But those close to him knew!

Wow, what a sad life. This goes to show us that no amount of money can buy happiness, respect, or love. He was a WORLD FIGURE, and he lived and died such a lonely and sad life. I loved him and I pray that he is in heaven with the Lord.

Unless my hearing is off key, none of those lyrics are on his song “Blood on the Dance Floor” so where on earth did you get that from. Man, you people are so quick to make up stuff

I don’t believe this..this is just here say..so what a lyric about Demerol? so do you actually think he wrote this lyric?? I don’t believe it. This is a case that needs to be truthfully looked into..NO hides and coverups..just looked into honestly. R.I.P. Michael..this fan wants true answers!!! This fan can not stop crying for a the death of a famous pop musician so sudden and was ready preparing a famous comeback tour!!! It does not add up.

To Vivian King’s Post. Are you so loving and understanding of the many ####### in your country? The guy was unreal, a bad case on a drug addict for over 20 years, a black guy that sudently turns white, and you people see it as normal? As deserving love and understanding? I see this society going so wrong not to see the many aberrations that this poor excuse of a person’s done that really scares me.

Listen People…Does it really matter what this person did or wanted to do or was doing? to you or anybody else? This was a person a human being…one of US! a child of homosapien and mankind and God! He needed friends and he just didnt know HOW to go about finding them! He HAD SO CALLED great friends BUT WHERE IN THE HELL WERE THEY WHEN HE NEEDED THEM? WE… ALL OF US HAVE SOME PROBLEM WE DEAL WITH EVERYDAY…THINK ABOUT HAVING TO DEAL WITH EVERYDAY PROBLEMS AND NOT BEING ABLE TO STEP FOOT OUTSIDE YOUR DOOR WITHOUT A DAMNED body guard!…and being an adult since the age of 6 years old…where were ALL these so called DAMNED FRIENDS in his hours of need? …AND!!!! who was the dumb ### that called 911? Nobody mentioned that and if that DR was such a damned good cardiologist why didnt he know better to put Michael on the floor in the 1st place…I have had cpr training thats the 1st thing you learn!!!! What about this ex wife? she had plenty of motive to MURDER HIM with her NURSES TRAINING!!!! and drug availability!!!!!HOW about ALL THAT MONEY and stock he had? Who ever needed cash his MURDER would be a fast and easy BUCK to save many an empty pocket book!!!!I dont know what happened at NEVERLAND…the only thing that bothered me was how he handled extreme pressure in crowds and the Berlin motel incident clearly showed his only way of connecting to people was through his fans…he was one VERY LONELY PERSON!!! HollyWood is NOPLACE for anyone to LIVE freindship and love do NOT reside there its all about faces and what you can get and airtime…if only he really knew what he did to himself by living there in that HEll Hole!!! waiting for friendship and releif through some connection with no one….This is just CRAZY and its sad to the maximum if only he knew real people not the Liza’s and elizabeths of Hollywood USA…he could have and should have went anywhere else…anywhere!!!! GOD BE WITH YOU MICHAEL wherever you are please find the peace you have so been lacking in your world…Take Care…

Posted by: CS | June 28, 2009, 6:15 pm 6:15 pm

PS
What does money do for people who have it?
Ill answer that one….with another question…If a Dr takes the hypocratic oath before he is sworn to be a Dr…Why knowing the condition of the patient would he perscribe ANY lethal medication like Demerol? How could he get away with it…And Why as in the case of Marilyn Monroe would ANY ONE let a Dr tell you HOW TO LIVE or…Live with you????? Whats wrong with that senario? EVERYTHING!!!! Think PEOPLE THINK!!!!! Would a regular person be able to get that kind of treatment? …the answer is NO!!!!!! He knows where the money is he knew Michael was a prime Target!!!!!…So, did his family and so did his friends…..
JUSTICE!!! WHERE IS IT!!!????

Posted by: CS | June 28, 2009, 6:30 pm 6:30 pm

I was almost killed in the hospital by Demoral when I was 13, after an operation.
I have a healthy respect for morphine.
His lyrics says it all, and no one to stop him.

Shouldn’t this be on TMZ?

People puhleeeze!! I have been a fan of Michael Jackson since he first came out as a member of the Jackson 5. He went through some very extreme changes throughout his life but three things remain constant…he was a very talented individual, he was a human being created by the God of this universe, and no matter what he deserved love as much as the next person!!!! Unfortunately in his position he could never know if people loved him for himself or for what he could do for them. Not condoning his drug use but perhaps it was his escape from the prison of infamy.

I am so glad that everyone else except Micheal Jackson is perfect. I am so glad that no one else makes mistakes. I am so glad that we can walk around with our heads high because we would never do anything like what he has done. I am so glad we are better than that. You know what else? I am so glad none of us are Jesus Christ. I am so glad no one here has a heaven or a hell to put me in. I am so glad that I don’t have to answer to anyone here on earth. I am so glad that i am not perfect. I am so glad that I am not rich. I am so glad that you here who comment on how strange he was, have nothing strange about you. I am so glad you have lived his life before and that you know how he felt and you know for sure what he did and you know for sure….everything. I did not know him personally, and niether did you.I have no idea what he went through, but i can imagine, maybe it was like this…. You are married and someone saw you out on more than one occasion with a friend of yours and it got back to your spouse that you were cheating and your spouse believed what ever he or she was told and she or he had no proof of what you and your friend where doing for sure. But you scream at the top of your lungs to prove to them that nothing was going on. Then you are divorced, scared for life at this event that shouldn’t have taken place at all. After sometime your spouse learns that your friend was a former teacher and you were actually studying to take your GED test and you didn’t want them to know you never graduated from high school because they were so judgemental. All I knoe for sure is, is that he was a great singer, loving person, by listening to his music. Maybe a good father. Maybe a brother to his sibling. Maybe a good son at times. But I know for sure what he wasn’t…….. A bad person for whatever he did. We all are the same no matter what we look like. Our blood bleeds the same…. Red.

I also grew up listening to his music. It will be part of the soundtrack of my life and he will be missed.
@ Fran
I hope for your sake that when you die people are a little more sympathetic and remember you for the good, and not the bad. Or maybe you and your family has never made any mistakes in their life. Wow, must be nice! For the rest of humanity most people can hope that their loved ones remember them for the good they have done. EVERYONE has ups and downs, and make mistakes. The poor man is dead. Show a little respect.
And as for the aleged bad that was in the media for him, do a little research and you’ll see it’s been all but proven both times the people were just gold digging, and the alegations were false.
My 2 cents.

To Vivian King: The song is not called “Demerol,” but called “Morphine.” The lyrics seen above are FROM the song not the whole song.

Stephanie listen to a Song from “Blood on The Dancefloor” album called “Morphine” and on the bridge he talks about Demerol

I just feel sad of the lost of a person who gave so much in life, and now people are all talking about things we cant judge thats for GOD and GOD alone. one thing is true we all have to stand before GOD rather you believe or not, most stars never give as much as Micheaj Jackson gave.

There are many problems leading to his unfortunate death. 1) If he was suffering, and then recovering from a skin cancer treatment, then why was he receiving so much Demerol either in pills or in injections? 2) He was supposedly developing anorexia, and he was definitely underweight for someone his height: 5 feet 10 inches or so, why was he prescribed so much medication, ( for someone who is underweight , and has no appetite or is undernourished pain medications, relaxants, antidepressants etc are recipes for death. 3) multiple pain medications were found in his home, Why? It is not allowed to be on more than one pain medication of the opiate kind, for the very reason that multiple pain drugs can cause the heart stress, cause difficulty breathing, and eventually lead to a coma or death, why was he one more than one? 4) Being a cancer patient and being wealthy why did Michael not pay for home health care, and why did his weight and poor appetite not raise warning bells for the Doctors that were treating him? 5) If they did not know about his weight and poor appetite, it was their job to find out, all doctors are supposed to weigh their clients, and as well to determine their eating habits, through questioning the client and by doing blood, urine tests etc. 6) If he had a history of drug addiction to pain killers as he did when he admitted himself into the Drug therapy clinic in the 1990′s then why was he later given so much more pain medication esp of the addictive type in his later years?
7) Why was CPR given at home by a certified Doctor improperly? CPR was administered in bed, when instead the person is supposed to be placed on a flat unmoving surface such as the floor.
8) Why are the other doctors that were treating him for his skin cancer, and his regular family physician and all other doctors that treated him not questioned about the medications they prescribed for him
8) Considering he was recovering from skin cancer why did the medical cancer doctors not advice Michael against going to work right away
9) Why was Michael left alone in this condition, cancer is a terrible disease, he should have been surrounded by his family and by loving people
10) Instead look at the people that surrounded him
11) His health was the most important thing but it seems to have not been treated as important. Either through the neglect or carelessness of others, and even of Michael himself, health, rest, proper nutrition, and avoidance of painkillers–it being that he had a history of addiction to them, were not observed. To me, it would appear that Michael’s full recovery from skin cancer his drug addiction treatment, and bringing his weight, appetite and overall emotional and physical health up to normal should have been the number one priority rather than fulfilling the concert contract. The leaked autopsy report found that the skin cancer had gone, and so all Michael needed was to rest and nourish his body with good food, and to abstain from drugs. Had he gone to a drug treatment addiction program and weight counseling he might not be dead today, and he would have being able to bounce back to health and perform at a later date for his fans. This is a real sad story very tragic to leave three children orphaned, and truly a loss for his family and fans all over the world. His life was cut unnecessarily short.

Can this man just rest in peace and let his family mourn for him along with his fans without having hear all the bad things. Let’s take the time out and remember the good things and how much he was loved.

Kinnidi,Wow. You are so awesome, and down to earth.I could not have put words better than what you just wrote. Thank you so much. I hope that people will read this and look into themselves, instead of putting down such a wounderful talented artist like Michael Jackson. Michael has died, and it truly amazes me how cold, disrespectful, shallow, heartfelt, sick, and discusting people can be. I truly do not believe that Michael did this to himself, and the person who made the 911 call was too calm, very slow, and sounded guilty to me. Thankyou for the love and respect that you show for Michael. All he needs, and ever needed is LOVE.

Being a singer/songwriter I was very uneasy when I first heard “Morphine.” Not so much because of the lyrics; but because it sounded eerily similar to the drum pattern of a song I wrote in 2007 called “Will Love Ever Happen”. Since yesterday I have been playing my song and MJ’s over and over and am floored by that same drumbeat. The first 18 bars are 99% similar which really spooked me.
I had never heard “Morphine” before until yesterday so I know I didn’t sample it. Anyway, it saddens me to know that a man and talent I have been musically influenced by for decades went out like that. We all have secrets in our closets. Unfortunately for Michael his were almost always on public display.

I totally agree with Kinnidi…People please….He was a GREAT PERSON and his personallity just DEMANDS RESPECT….so stop judjing him as you were God and try to judge ”the man in the mirror…”!

Posted by: aliktw | July 4, 2009, 6:52 pm 6:52 pm

When the lyrics to this song first came out he was probably recovering from injury or something like that and it wasn’t a red flag to friends and family, but he probably had just discovered his drug of choice, in which a little love affair begins and most drug addicted musicians have written a little ditty about their fav drug and probably kept that one out of the limelight.

I think that he was sent from God as a gift. That’s the reason for the persecution that he had to endure. He sacrificed his life for us so that we could enjoy his music for eternity just as christ sacrificed his life for us to live in eternal life!! WE LOVE YOU mIchael and I know that God is taking care of you. Absent from the body and present with the LORD!!! Thank God that he is the only one that can judge us and have “FINALE SAY”

i really love michael jackson a lot . And when i heard the news i was shock and so sad . I felt that my heart was broke into pieces ! Michael’s doctor sucks!you know why?!if he’s a true friend to him and acting like a “REAL and MAGNIFICENT” doctor he would not allowed him to take meds that will make his body weaker weaker , maybe it does feels good “SOMETIMES” but he knew that it can kill him ! He shouldnt be a doctor!cause he does not knows what’s good for his patients!
Michael ,you’re a real inspiration not only to me,but to all the people living in this world. I hope someday i can start a change for the better future of this world!i love you michael , may your soul rest in peace! I’ll miss you ! ;(

I wasn’t aware of this song Michael wrote.. I wasn’t aware of his drug addiction until after he’s death. I listen to an interview of one of Michael’s long year friend. He said the only one the could stop Michael was Michael. I just believe if Michael fans knew we could have saved him, we could have helped him. I would have sent him an email stating “how it is so important to millions of people that he get help and stay alive. I’m quite sure millions of people can agree with me. If Michael’s fans would have flooded the airways, radio, internet and postal services with love letters to him and words of encouragement daily. I believe he then would have listen. I’m so sadden Michael had such a lonely life a life which he felt no one understand him. I wish I could have just said one word to him along with lots of prayers. He gave and sacrafice so much of his life to make others happy. I believe Michael is with the Lord in place of peace where there is no more constant beats booming in is head. Rest in peace Michael you have no clue how much many people really love you for just being you.

To see the kind words about Michael on this webpage reinforces my faith that most people on this planet are good kind caring people.
To see the judgemental & mean comments reminds me that there are plenty of misguided people who think they know everything.
How would you feel if you were afflicted by vitaligo and your apperance began to change? And over 1000 people sued you? And you were judged by people who didn’t even know you? And you had a rough childhood? And your head was accidentally burned at work? And you were aquitted on devastating criminal charges, but people still judged you?
Would you be courageous enough to stay in your career in the public eye? Would you be able to make beautiful loving music to share with the world? Would you be able to give of yourself to worthy causes because you wanted help people and end suffering around the world?
I bet none of you judgemental people have done anything to help someone you didn’t know. The very concept of giving to a cause without personal gain is beyond your comprehension.
I challenge you all to listen to his music and tell me that he wasn’t a kind person who cared about humanity. He was ridiculed and not shown the respect he deserved. He was sued and taken advantage of by many. It’s a sad time for humanity. We love you brother. We love you Michael Jackson. Your music will never die.

Well why is anyone shocked? It’s not like this song was new. He wasn’t hiding anything. He was in trouble and he knew it. Rather than just help record the song and then listen to it, where were the ‘money grabbers, idle-jabbers and backstabbers’, when he was obviously screaming for help. I’ll tell you where, standing there with their hands out looking for more of his money. They’d jab him full of whatever needle handy if it meant more cash. Poor man.

Vivien King, I have the song. I have all his songs. Morphine is song #2 on Blood on the Dance Floor. If you go to iTunes you can download it. He wrote it and he sang it. Here, I’ll type what it says in the CD sleeve…”Written by Michael Jackson” 1997. He did all vocals, played drums and some guitar with Slash. 1997 folks. MANY years ago. He was in deep trouble and told everyone. Most just didn’t care….and those who did, couldn’t get close enough to make a difference. They were outnumbered by the freaks who wanted to keep their hands in Michael’s pockets.
