Nestle Cookie Dough Recall: What You Need to Know

Nestle voluntarily recalled its pre-packaged Toll House cookie dough products today amidst fears that it could be contaminated with a form of E. coli.  Their recommendation?  Don't eat the raw dough. More than 60 people in 28 states have become sick over the past few months.  Health officials are not positive that the cookie dough is to blame, but Nestle decided to recall the dough as a precaution.   Nestle stressed that its other products are still ok to eat — including pre-baked cookies, chocolate chips, cocoa and ice cream made by Dreyer's and Edy's that contain cookie dough. E.coli is not just a domestic issue, but can affect Americans traveling abroad.
This is not the same strain of E.coli that causes typical ‘traveler’s diarrhea’. The cookie dough germ can have serious medical consequences. Find oout if E.coli is traveling in your destination.
