Quick Fix: The Mommy Blogger

I do think there should be a requirement of disclosure, but it certainly doesn’t need to be a priority for any law makers right now.

Hmm, disclosure requirements for bloggers as a journalistic integrity hoop? Not a bad idea, but nearly impossible to enforce just based on the sheer volume of blog content nowadays.
I do want to pose this query, we will finally get disclosures in the sroll at the bottom of our televised news screen to include “This story paid for by corp X’s military division.” or “This slander campaign bit brought to you by political party X”?
If a legislation like this is ever actually put forth to Chamber Floor or FCC I do hope ABC will take the lead in pushing for a more universal disclosure policy for ALL forms of media. Lets just say that these ingorant and invasive “viral marketing” ploys are chewing away at private and government resources when they first surface, bloggers who are completely undereducated on topics throwing out advice because it means a paycheck, Wiki type sites getting filled with obviously contracted articles. This issue though packaged in a small way here with The Quick Fix is certainly worthy a more lengthy and indepth look. All love and respect for Mr. Gibson, but I would like to see you or Bill take the reigns on this, as it could be a good piece of introduction work to some solid and professional blogging for you, see if you can stir up more solid numbers on the quantity and types of blogs and open content sites that may suffer from this particular issue.
