"The public is really moving from evaluating him as a charismatic and charming leader to his specific handling of the challenges facing the country," — Peter D. Hart, Democratic pollster, explaining a drop in Americans' support for the President's handling of the economy
"I am worried because I received a phone call, a recorded message that said to me: 'You have been protesting. If you go out again and do protest again, you will be arrested soon'…We as individuals should keep gathering together, to keep our numbers high and as it is at the moment, if we go on this way, I think and I feel, a change might happen." — 24-year-old Iranian, identified only as "B", interviewed by the BBC
"We don’t know if, as has been claimed, Twitter was powerful enough to mobilize people in Iran to get out and rally. What seems more likely is that this was a widespread civic movement, reported and reflected online…The line 'the Revolution will be Twitterized' began as a protest against the limitations of TV coverage of the Iranian election. As the authors have since proven, in the Twitter world there are no limits." — Lara Setrakian, ABC News
“Our current system is a combination of Adam Smith, Darth Vader and the ‘Invasion of the Body Snatchers.’ ” — Sen. Barbara Mikulski, D-Md., after Sen. Judd Gregg, R-N.H., said the plan for financial oversight looked like it was written by Rube Goldberg, Karl Marx and Ira Magaziner.
"The two things I'm on the planet for now are to take care of the people I love and to take care of people who cannot take care of themselves." — former Senator and presidential candidate John Edwards, speaking to the Washington Post in his first interview since acknowledging an extra-marital relationship

These young people of Iran really want to get rid of the Mullah’s. Bravo, you keep using Musavi as a tool to demonstrate, to overthrough the real power behind the throne in Iran. You don’t need those crotchity old men and their “Morality police”. Go out on dates, ladies take off that headgear, and smoke ciggies in public. Good for you… unfortunately, amny of you will die for these freedoms.. but then as we Americans learned, and are still learning… FREEDOM ISN’T FREE!`
