Bernie Madoff Gives A Jail House Interview

An attorney sat down today with convicted and jailed swindler Bernie Madoff.  The lawyer, Joseph Cotchett represents victims who are considering a lawsuit against Madoff's wife, sons and brother.  Cotchett says he met with Madoff and his attorney at the prison in North Carolina for nearly 5 hours.  Here's how Cotchett described Madoff:  "He was very articulate, very direct. He didn't hold back anything. He talked about how he pulled it off, how many years he got away with it. It was quite frankly an extraordinary interview."    Cotchett says that Madoff talked about caring deeply about his wife Ruth but not about his sons.  Madoff and his sons have apparently not spoken since the scandal unfolded.  As for the cat and mouse game with authorities Cotchett says Madoff had this to say:  "There were several times that I met with the SEC and thought 'they got me.'"  On how Madoff looked in prison?  "He looked pretty good and seems to be working out," said Cotchett. "He looked a lot better than he has in some months since I've seen photographs of him."

It is hard for me to understand that Bernie Madoff could have pulled this crime off by himself. He had a entire floor of employees to answer phones and to sell the the investment program.
Wow is it possible for nobody but Madoff to know of this for years.

Is he really angry with his sons?
Is he afraid they’ll turn state evidence or is this just a ploy to try to throw the feds off?
