Bob Woodruff Reunites With Medics Who Saved His Life

Three years ago when Bob Woodruff was injured by an IED attack in Iraq, he was flown to a military hospital in Balad where the medics there saved his life.  On his World News report tonight, Bob reunites with members of that extraordinary team.

Hi, I’ve been watching Bob’s report about the medics that saved him when he was injured by an IED in Iraq. It was an amazing report by Bob, especially seeing him return to Iraq after his horrific injuries. The medics are amazing people, even caring for insurgents who are injured when those same people are trying to kill military personnel. Well done guys and please keep up the outstanding work you do. All the best from Denis, UK.

Bob Woodruff’s remarkable recovery, his amazing determination, and the medical team who helped achieve these results are truly inspirational. I just wonder about the toll these battles and bombings take on the children in Iraq and Afghanistan? (And other areas of conflict or genocide.)
I wonder how many little ones fear each day that their parents may not return because a suicide bomber has unleashed indiscriminate death. I wonder how many children themselves have suffered life-changing injuries. I wonder how the mothers in these countries can stand all the bloodshed and not want to scream, “Enough!”
When the media focus is Michael Jackson and not the children in these troubled lands, we make a choice to let seeds of future terror take root.

I’m firmly convinced that it was the mothers in Northern Ireland who had precisely this point of view that finally put an end to “The Troubles.”
Guys are frankly not smart enough. Mothers and wives (who are in a position to deny certain … services) have a position of power that they perhaps have not recognized yet.

I watched the scenes last night. They were so emotional.
