“Low Life” Jackson was a “Pervert, a Child Molester, he was a Pedophile,” says Rep. Peter King

Not everyone was happy with Tuesday's wall-to-wall coverage of Michael Jackson's memorial. In a YouTube video, Peter King, a republican congressman from New York, says: “All we hear about is Michael Jackson.” “Let’s knock out the psychobabble. He was a pervert, a child molester, he was a pedophile. And to be giving this much coverage to him, day in and day out, what does it say about us as a country?” Some 31.1 million people in the United States watched the Michael Jackson memorial on television, with millions more catching video streams on their computers, according to Nielsen Media Research.

I’m no Michael Jackson fan (and yes, I found the coverage for the last two weeks WAY over the top) but isn’t it interesting that a member of the US Congress doesn’t understand what being found innocent in a court of law means.
Maybe he should be more concerned about what having congressmen who don’t understand the basic tenets of our legal system says about our country?

Posted by: Jaylah | July 9, 2009, 3:47 am 3:47 am

Yup! Another blowhard, mean-spirited Republican jerk being a class act!
Michael may have been many things, to many people, but at least he brought joy to people to his music.
I wonder what they will say about Mr. Peter King at his funeral?

When I was molested and raped by family member 40 years ago, I have never recovered and remain sexually ambiguous to this very day. The thing about it it, my mother and her sister knew and did nothing about it. My life has been a Stonewall Riot every since. There has been no therapy that has worked and have been totally estranged by everyone. Since Obama did nothing for rights of non-heterosexual people, my life lays in limbo as I am still dealing with unrest about the entire ordeal and still have to deal with the same family members who molested, raped and terrorized me as a child and I can’t say anything because of privacy rights of the perpetrators. President Obama is justified in his words about the sad and tragic things in Michael Jacksons life. Michael Jackson-according to inside sources, Katherine and Joe and the whole family knew Michael was a pediphile before he was aquitted of charges of Child Molestation. I am sorry that he died so suddenly and I am a fan of his music, but, there is nothing in my heart. I am a victim of child molestation and rape myself. So there is no remorse that I feel. Children never get over this dispicable delimna and have to live with it everyday, seek phsychiatric help, do drugs or go insane with the aftermath that a person never gets over. Nothing works to get rid or the pain and life long suffering Psychiatric help, therapy, etc., will ever heal that. To sum it all up to the hilt, a vicitim cannot trust God or anyone else in life, always on the lookout for mistreatment and get there share daily when so many people fail to see the truth about themselves or anyone else. Moreover, the Holy Bible perpetrators play a god role and every one is trying to out play everyone else. Knowing that there is no God.

Michael Jackson visited Malaysia back in 1996 and since then many Malaysians have waited for him to stop by again.
It seems like many Americans do not know how to appreciate Michael Jackson as one of the country’s biggest income contributor. When Michael Jackson was in Malaysia, he donated generously to orphanages and performed superbly to his fans. We love him!
Malaysia’s biggest trading partner is the US and American entertainers like Michael Jackson and Mariah Carey play a big part in that equation.
Upon his passing, three Cabinet ministers in Japan recount positive contribution by the King of Pop but this was met with baseless attacks by New York Congressman Peter King. Very sad.
I don’t know why some reporters in the US are so stingy with positive affirmation of their entertainers. There are overwhelming personal gossips on talented entertainers like Michael Jackson, Madona and Britney Spears. The focus should be about their contribution to the US economy, especially in the current recession.
I support Michael Jackson being honoured a World Humanitarian. He is a good example of a diligent and kind-hearted American who care about people in developing nations. Michael Jackson has done more good for his country than most Americans like Peter King want to admit.
In the eyes of the international community, American soldiers are not heroic, they have killed innocent civilians in Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan. We can’t help but see American soldiers as murderers.
It is time for the US lawmakers to ‘heal the world’ like Michael Jackson, and not go to war. US lawmakers should focus taxpayers’ money on enhancing trade and making peace.

AS CONGRESSWOMAN SHIELA JACKSON LEE SAID “MICHAEL JACKSON IS INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY”
IT’S JUST A PITY THAT THOSE PEOPLE WHO WERE SUPPOSE TO HAVE THE INTELLECT TO UNDERSTAND THAT PHRASE AND TO UNDERSTAND WHAT KIND OF LIFE MICHAEL JACKSON HAD AS A CHILD, REALLY FINDS IT SO DIFFICULT TO UNDERSTAND SIMPLE PHRASE.
IT WOULD BE EVEN ACCEPTABLE TO SAY THAT MJ HAD A PSYCHOLOGICAL PROBLEM, A 50-YEAR OLD WHO NEVER GREW UP AND WHO STAYED WITH THE MIND OF THAT OF A CHILD OF 10 YEARS OLD, LOVING ELEMENTARY THINGS AND LOVING KIDS.
I WISH THOSE PEOPLE WHO POINTS TO MJ THE MISTAKE THAT IS BEING ACCUSED OF HIM WILL BE ABLE TO SLEEP AT NIGHT. THEY HAVE NOT EVEN DONE HALF OF WHAT MJ HAS DONE, OF TOUCHING ONE’S LIFE. WHAT THEY DO ONLY IS RUIN ONE’S LIFE FOR THEIR OWN INTEREST.
THE PERSON IS DEAD ALREADY FOR GOD’S SAKE CAN’T YOU JUST LEAVE HIM ALONE PEOPLE???

How can you compare Jackson with the soldiers in Vietnam or Iraq????? I don’t understand – please explain.
The soldiers are fighting for freedom and MANY, MANY have lost their lives. Jackson was an entertainer. How many of our soldiers have been killed? These men are the HEROES, not Jackson.

There’s an old saying that ‘People who live in glass houses should not throw stones’. Maybe Congressman King should look at the skeleton’s in his closet. Live on MJ! Live on!

MJ was an ideal American king encompassing the whole world in his kind heart and echoing it out through his music. True, sincere and responsible Americans should be thinking about why our society made him suffer and dragged a divine and insightful entertainer to this end. We owe him this memorial and many more work to enlighten his soul as he filled us with extraordinary moments through his talents. Unfortunate and greedy gang and pitiful politicians like Peter take away our sanity and identity, but we will forever be positively vibrating stronger because Michael taught us to fight, live, protect and be bigger than created insanity that come in our way to destroy every trace of strength within ourselves. We will always be inspired by MJ’s compassionate heart, his enfolding dance waves around us and at times his enveloping voice, his bold expressiveness, and a strong will to do what was right for himself and for his children. Hope Michael feels and understands from our tributes that even this entire world needs to have his energy to move forward and tackle the challenges of this life.

PETER KING = HYPOCRIT. Let’s suppose that everything he says about Michael Jackson is true and that history is being rewritten to show him in a better light. THE SAME THING WAS DONE FOR BOTH KENNEDYs AND ROOSEVELT, to name a few. So boo-hoo, Mr. King. Michael Jackson did more good for the world than any President so far.

Opinions. After all is said and done, thats all it really is. And EVERYONE has one dont they? Its interesting to read and hear everyones opinion, but as far as innocence or guilt, the only one who really knows for sure are the violator and the victims. Having said that; my suggestion is to give credit for the good and punishment to the bad. All of us on this planet have done both. Michael was no different, so who are we to judge? I am not proud of the things I have done wrong and I am very proud of the things I have done right. Its my opinion that everyone should stop judging others and take a long look in the mirror because when we point one finger at someone else there are three others pointing back at you. Take the time to think about that before you give your opinion. I did.

Who are you Peter King to point your finger and judge Michael Jackson? You must remember only God have a right to judge His creation and no one else, all of us will give our account before Him on His coming, and you must prepare for yourself about it, instead of being busy on Michael’s interest. Michael do his great job. He has a big heart to others, his love and compassion show everyone and i think this time he is in our Creator’s hand. So for everyone of us let’s Michael Jackson have rest and peace. And for Peter King do you know where is your soul going after your final breath?

Michael Jackson was a very good entertainer – a better dancer than singer – there was nothing beautiful about the quality of his voice as there was with Elvis Presley’s vocals and others who preceded him. Having said that, Michael Jackson was mortal – he did not walk on water. He sinned as all humans do. What his actual sins were, I do not know. Being acquitted in a US court is not vindication under God’s laws because God’s laws are seldom followed in our court system – Roe vs. Wade is proof of that. Just enjoy the man’s music – if you like it – and stop making him some kind of God – because he wasn’t. He died. I rest my case.

Posted by: JB | July 9, 2009, 7:49 am 7:49 am

Personally, I think the raw commercialization of Jackson’s death was/is a grotesque display, and every “entertainer” associated with the “memorial” is just feasting on his corpse.
But I think King’s comments are not only just as inappropriate, they are also wrong. Aquitted means just that: aquitted of all charges.

As I dont agree with what Peter King as said about michael jackson, I do agree with the fact that there was way too much coverage of it! There are way more important things happening in the world, like the men and women fighting for our freedom!Lets cover that all day, everyday and show them the support they deserve!

Posted by: Courtney | July 9, 2009, 8:45 am 8:45 am

Michael Jackson was talented, no dispute here. He lived a reprobate life style and that is why he is no “icon” to many people.

Posted by: Andy P | July 9, 2009, 9:11 am 9:11 am

First of all, We all know that because of the bias laws of this country, if there was a shred of evidence against Michael Jackson, he would have been underneath the jail. Those children were clearly forced to lie in order for the parents and lawyers to get money. No sane parent, if their child was truly molested, would accept cash in lieu of justice. The prosecution did not find a shred of evident and the jury did not believe those boys, so it’s no surprise that Michael was found innocent, because he didn’t do anything wrong. Since Peter King has so much to say, maybe he can explain to me why Elvis or Jerry Lee Lewis didn’t spend a second in jail, these two were (KNOWN PEODPHILES), and why he isn’t outraged that Graceland made over $50million last year from tourists flocking to pay homage to a KNOWN pedophile. I’m waiting for an answer to that. I want to hear what kind of double-standard, psyco-babble excuse he will give.

Posted by: Davina | July 9, 2009, 9:29 am 9:29 am

All this blabber on and on by the posters here doesn’t matter.
What matters is if what Peter King says about Michael Jackson is true or not.
If it’s the truth then yell it from the highest mountaintops to the deepest valley.

Posted by: Noz | July 9, 2009, 9:36 am 9:36 am

Excellent musician yes. Pedophile, most likely. He was never proven guilty, he had all the justice he could pay for. The Congressman should have had enough class to let this issue rest. To the fools whom shout racist: Is this one of your few vocabulary words? Can you make a logical and reasonable argument without throwing the “racist” card. A higher judge will have the final say.

Posted by: Scott | July 9, 2009, 9:36 am 9:36 am

Where were all of those celebreties when Michael was facing child molestation charges? They weren’t exactly lining up behind him, were they?
Now that he’s dead, people will cry and say, “Oh, what a good fellow he was.” They claimed to be ‘such good friends’.
We do know that he was given and (I assume) took willingly powerful drugs. Who was in Michael’s corner then?
What, no intervention? Where was the love at that time?
Who protected his children from the Michael who took those debilitating drugs? Where was the aunts and uncles for those kids at that time?
Something was not right in that family.
“Nothing strange” about Michael?
Okay, if you call taking powerful drugs ‘not strange’, then I don’t know what to say to that.

Posted by: ddg | July 9, 2009, 9:40 am 9:40 am

Pure BS. Just because MJ wasn’t found guilty in a court of law, doesn’t mean he didn’t do it. It doesn’t mean he is not a pedophile. What it says is that it could not be proven. Given his track record, would any of you allow your children to stay the night with Jackson? I think not.
Now I don’t agree with the characterization of MJ with his family and friends grieving. I think it was a bit insensitive. However, I don’t agree with all the speeches about how he was such a great humanitarian. That is pure BS. We all know he was a pedophile regardless of what the courts said. This sounds like the same cr*p I heard about OJ being innocent. If you believe that, I have some beachfront property for sale in Idaho for you. :-)

Posted by: L Laramie | July 9, 2009, 9:42 am 9:42 am

This man obviously doesn’t care what the court found. And he obviously doesn’t care about the seedy Members of Congress who’ve been messing with teen aides, etc. since he said nothing about them.
This speech is meant for the right-wingers who elected him. Those who don’t like him won’t ever like him. This helps herd together the faithful. End of story.

Michael Jackson was proven innocent on those counts. Therefore, he was not a pedophile!!!!! He was a good and kind human being who gave to children organizations all across the globe. He was not the pervert that Mr. King and others made him out to be. And have some respect for the deceased and their family and friends. He was put through enough criticizm while he was on this earth. Enough is enough.

Just because he was acquitted doesn’t mean he didn’t do it. This is the same kind of logic you people apply to OJ. Would you want your daughter to date him?
I rest my case.

C J Richardson – great post. And I agree 100%. What this world could use is a bit more forgiveness and a lot less judgement.
Let Michael sing in heaven.
Let those of us left on earth remember him as we will.
Let those who judge remember that not all of their actions are above-reproach.
Heal the world. One thought and action at a time.

I think people need to look at the traits of a child molester. Michael Jackson did not fit the profile.
A. child molesters would never give an interview saying they slept with children.
B. There seem to be more preversion in the political arena. I say the he should clean up the sexual messes in Washington. Silly man!

Let the Jacksons and AEG make a buck. Give the two kids to Diana. Lets all send the right message to our children’s children. Money and style are everything. Beauty and individuality need to be overstated, in-your-face, loud, and obnoxious in order to truly gain adoration from all. After all, who am I to criticize. We boomers did such a good job passing our impeccable values from the 1960′s, 70′s on to our posterity. Oh but that would be accepting responsibility for our own actions, and that won’t do. Its my parents fault for having World War II. I was deprived as a child by having been told “NO” too many times, and actually having to wait longer than five minutes for candy, money, cars, sex, and a myriad of other things. Now millions of boomers will pay, many of us will probably have to work until we die. And you young ones, you get to gloat over the generation that is sinking you and your children into a pit of future debt. So, make Michael a hero and forget about those stupid firemen and soldiers who chose not to serve themselves when they joined up and paid the final, ultimate price for their stupidity. Poor Michael, so abused by life, just got a few hundreds of millions to spend, and went out so heroically. Let us honor and worship at his gravesite like our silly forefathers did for the fallen from useless wars defending what? Why the right to publicly adore Michael Jackson, of course.

Posted by: k. daraa | July 9, 2009, 1:37 pm 1:37 pm

He bought his way out of that trial, we are not stupid. Jackson has long been shadowed as a child molester. He has no place or right to be honored or made to look like some kind of Saint. He was a singer that is all. Face the truth and do try to pass him off as some great person. Hundreds of really good people die every day and never ever get any recognition, what about them? I take it when OJ dies we will have a big TV event and some loser from Texas or California will try to honor him as a great football player and forget about all the bad things he did?

Seems fake to me.
If MJ took powerful drugs, would that have been a healthy environment for those kids? Would the fact that MJ loved his kids be enough, if powerful drugs were involved?
Where was MJ’s family?
Apparently, MJ did not want help.

Also innocent until proven guilty. The only ones that really know what happened are God, Michael and the kids. I sure hope you don’t make it to the Senate. You are a jerk. I think Peter King hit the nail right on the head about Jackson. It seems that its OK to be pervert and be a celebrity. If you have enough money and clout you can do anything and get away with it. Look at OJ, finally he got caught. It makes me sick to see the way people idolize Michael Jackson. I wouldn’t let my kids stay at his house, would you?

Peter King should resign. What kind of example does he send out to young republicans? He should lead by positive diplomacy not the other way around.
He should be ashamed of himself. This is almost 22nd century and he pulls that racial stuff. Mr. Peter said :”And to be giving this much coverage to him, day in and day out, what does it say about us as a country?” Answer, it tells a lot. MJ meant something to those people cause his music brought people together regardless of race. Now that’s a big thing to do in this world to united people. Everybody is tired of wars, racist and hatred. We don’t need people leading this country with negativity, we need leaders with positivity. That tells a lot about Mr. Peters character.

I guess people really don’t think before they say things. I am a logical thinker. However, there are people who feel strongly about a subject and it pushes them over the edge.
My point is Peter King and everyone else should choose their words wisely when speaking. (Yes I understand the freedom of speech concept)However, there are people who react violently because of what someone says.(I’m not saying that it’s right)
I could care less how the next person feels about someone. However is Peter King that selfish to realize that he’s not just talking about any person. Yes Michael Jackson was a entertainer. But he was still human. He was a father, a son and a brother. We need to start considering that the gossip not only hurts the person, but it also hurts the family. That is not fair to his children.

Posted by: LMM | July 9, 2009, 4:45 pm 4:45 pm

Mr. King has a right to his opinion. I guess he also has a right to be a hypocrite, considering that in MY opinion there is not an honest politician in washington dc right now. But being corrupt, serving yourself instead of the thousands of people who elected you, and *pretending* to be honest and upstanding, is somehow not quite as bad as mj’s supposed child molesting.
He was never found legally guilty of molesting anyone. But of course that means nothing.
To the individual who said no parent in their right mind would accept money over justice for somebody molesting their child…you’d be real surprised what people would do for a little bit of green.
Because in this world where money, image and power mean more than morality, really what do people expect?

Michael admitted on camera that it was ‘the most loving thing to do’ — sleep with children. I assume (I hope) he meant to just close your eyes and fall asleep.
However, just doing the above is indeed ‘strange’ enough. It’s not normal.
What about his drug use?
Nothing strange about Michael?
Okay. Keep saying it until you believe it.
Michael did come from ‘Neverland’.

It baffles me, How could someone so educated, be such a fool!! Let me start by saying “Mr. King, please stop speaking on behalf of America”! We are not ignorant!

Peter King, Michael J. wants you to beat it.(?)

Nothing empty about that wagon.
The Rep. King spoke the truth and some can’t stand it.

Amazing how a court of law found him not guilty and this self righteous j-a is screaming this. All I say to him is “let he who has not sinned throw the first stone!”
Same right winged hatred…same old same old!

Ok, whether we agree or disagree on whether MJ did this or that. I get all the folks who loved the guys music and have all these great memories, but to post hurtful comments to people who have shared their experiences of child molestation by family members or other adults, you people should truly be ashamed.
Defend your “icon” all you want but there is never any reason to attack someone who had to live through the horrible experience of that!

let us look in rep peter kings closet what is he hiding and who is he to judge

Congressman King, you are the biggest moron, and how dare you speak so disrespectfully of Michael Jackson. He has done far more for this world that you ever have done; and you don’t know that he was ever guilty of anything…so don’t be so high and mighty. I’ll bet you have more than your share of skeletons in your closet. Keep your big mouth shut if you don’t have anything nice to say, because most people don’t agree with what you said.

I can only hope Mr. King that when you pass on and you get where it is that you go first i hope and pray that God doesn’t hold it against you that you judged a man and blasted him on the internet, tv and in life. May God have mercy on your soul sir. I think that Michael Jackson was a real hero someone who wasn’t ashamed to show how much he loved everyone, You don’t see that anymore sir, He taught me that you can make a difference no matter you do, big or small. Thank you Jackson family for sharing him with us.

Well Rep. King of New York.. I am appalled that a man that is in a position of law as you are has the nerve to make such a comment.. if personal keep it that was but to publicly make those comments of the late Michael Jackson is not only distasteful but wrong. Maybe it’s time for you to look for a new job. I will be going on a personal journey to make sure that happens. People of New York join the website and tell others that Peter King must go. Michael Jackson was not convicted of any crime other than being a genius. He’s done more for our country and other countries throughout the world than you have or will ever dream of. I here some “Haterizim”. And as a member of our government here in the United States, our constitution states that you are innocent until Proven guilty of a crime. No one is saying anything about your secrets. Your accusations of fondling young boys and drunken rampages. Oh your a white politician and you could do no wrong. Yeah right!!!

i think this king of a man is just not normal in his thinking. i doubt what he can do for USA or better still his family. from his words he sounds like the worse father on earth. only cowards act this way. why didnt you assist the judges in convicting him if you knew better about the case or why not quit your job and become a judge. all along when he was alive you stayed quiet until now and you dare open your … and say thrash.
take it or leave it he is a king, and idol, a source of happiness through his musics. he spread the message of peace.
i doubt what you can do for yourself.

First, for a member of congress to FORGET about our constitution and that someone is innocent until found guilty in a court of law is appalling to me and should not be a member of congress.

MJ WAS A MUSICAL GENIUS AND NOBODY CAN TAKE THAT AWAY FROM HIM, HE WAS PROVEN INNOCENT AND THAT SHOULD BE THE END OF THAT. NO MATTER WHAT YOU ARE ANYONE ELSE THANKS. MICHAEL REST IN PEACE. WE LOVE YOU

T. Howard, I was also molested as a child, but I did come over it. I was strong and a fighter… I still am. And whatever is said about MJ, I don’t believe it. I do believe in the juridical system a person is innocent until proven otherwise. It’s so clear that Peter King is at the wrong “working” place as he doesn’t even know that sentence.
I honour MJ and I’m proud I’ve lived to see one of his concerts in my life. What he has done for the children all over the world, for charity, no other popstar or moviestar ever did. He was a person with the heart on the right place and I do hope he is at peace in heaven…

I maybe a little late in making a comment on this but I have to say that what Mr. King said was not only disgusting but his statement shocked me because those words dangerously borderline defamation of character and slander. What was said was appalling, disheartening, disgraceful, and inconceivable from anyone and this kind of talk was coming from a member of Congress?
Michael Jackson was found innocent in a court of law he was never charged with this title.
And, I really think, I really hope, Mr. King knows that he needs to make an apology to the Jackson family and the world for his actions and for once again doing what all of the malicious people of this world have continually done to Michael Jackson his whole life.
The sad thing is this- Michael had to live with all of this slamming. He had to live with constantly being put under a microscope. And, he had to live with being scrutinized for every move he made. It is just so sad.
I don’t know about you but I really don’t think any human being could handle that kind of life and Michael Jackson had to live with this life? You have to ask “How does someone live like this without imploding”?
This world was just disgusting to Michael from the start. I think it is time to try to understand him, care for the soul that couldn’t find rest, and realize that our actions and words had a deep impact on him. We don’t know his every thought or feeling. We don’t know what it was like when he tried to lay down and go to sleep at night. No one knows but him and God and we just keep speculating and accusing and ridiculing this man.
I have to ask, “Where did our compassion for each other go array?” Maybe it is time to try again to love each other.
If anything positive can come from the tragedy of loosing Michael Jackson, I pray that this be a lesson to all of us that we need to be a little more aware of how we treat each other and learn to be careful of what we say about each other. After all, if you strip away fame, fortune, money, and titles we are nothing but human beings, HUMAN BEINGS with emotions, needs, and feelings.
And in saying that, on the subject of whether or not Michael should be honored for all of his work, I say yes. Absolutely, YES! Michael should be honored – starting with that Resolution 600 -because he was able to accomplish so much despite what the world handed him. That is a lot more than what can be said for many people who live or ever lived in this world.
Michael Jackson absolutely deserves to be given the acknowledgement and the honor for the work and charity that he has done in his life. It is said that he gave up to $500 Million Dollars to Charity. That is remarkable. Who gives that much to any stranger?
This world destroyed Michael Jackson. I think it is now time to give him back his dignity. Starting with the ceasing of destroying his reputation and secondly by giving him the positive recognition that he SO DESERVED!!!
May the Lord God and our brother Michael forgive us.

Would any of you let your children spend time with Michael Jackson at his Ranch?

yeah i believe for 20 million i wouldnt testify either against him

This so called lawmaker is a disgrace not to mention frightening since he is capable of making our laws but feels free to convict a person on his own personal thoughts. Our country and our lawmakers are to presume a person innocent until proven guilty. Obviously this doesn’t apply to this lawmaker. His idea of the law is GUILTY if he believes it with no proof. This man needs to be out of public office since he has no clue of our constitutional law and yet feels free to blurt out on MSM Guilty just because he BELIEVES it. I am no master of American law but I do know that a person that was not proven guilty by his peers is innocent, and that is that and we don’t need an elected official contradicting the law he is supposed to uphold.

Michael was not just a music icon he was a kind and generous human being. He donated to organizations all across the globe. He was NOT a pedophile!!!!He was acquitted of those allegations. He was not this terrible person some people made him out to be. Michael Jackson’s legacy will live on through his music and his dance moves. Keep doing the moonwalk Michael. You made the world a better place.

Let’s see…Joe Jackson smells something fishy and some folks agree and one Congressman gives him opinion. Was it after M.J.’s sister (reportedly) tried to do an intervention a few years back because his drug habit had resurfaced? Was it because of MJ’s serial plastic surgery procedures (reportedly) as frequent as every six weeks? Wast it the body image question? Was it the androgeny? Was it sleeping with children who were not his own in his bed? Was it the 10 Xanax MJ was reported to have to take to sleep each evening? Was it the as many as 30 xanax tablets that MJ was reported to have taken each evening during his last major tour? Was it the personal physician that MJ had to have on hand which of course is never an issue with a rich “eccentric” entertainer with a known and apparently ongoing drug abuse problem? Was it the reported use of Bubrenex, the injectable Demerol, the Diprivan, etc., etc., etc., obtained from as many as 12 physicians in different states? Or was it because senior family member visited MJ after being estranged for a very long time, shortly before his death and now don’t mention any of the issues like drug abuse, etc. while MJ is held up to the youth of our country? How sad, sickening and totally pathetic this freak show is becoming. The people who deserve our sympathy are MJ’s “children” whomever their real father really may be or however they were really created in vitro…

I think that anyone with vast amounts of wealth are open to people trying to siphon money from them. One of his so called alleged victims father was a true criminal involved in robberies and was in fact charged and proven guilty. This is a true indication to the psyche surrounding this Childs parent who may have trained his son for a story to make a quick buck. Michael Jackson did more for children than many can lay to claim and in the end his love for children is the main culprit in killing him, being destroyed by a element that he did so much for. He had many others like his alleged victims and no other has brought charges or misbehaviour against him. I believe he was indeed been a “fool” to invite any children to his theme park. It was a gate open for parents to give opportunity to extort or screw him from money. I personally would never allow my child to sleepover at any celebrities premises no matter what the case may be. To do so would make me feel responsible or an accessory to the fact if a breach of trust by the celebrity host. This sort of parent should be made accountable if child abuse may take place. In MJ case he was to kind and trusted to many from many walks of life. He was in the end destroyed by these allegations the very core of his love to the world issue of adolescent youth. His openness and naivety to his message of “We are the world, We are the children” ultimately backfired and killed him. His stress and re inventing himself would have been so great that emotionally he was terrorised to death. He gave to so many charities that is well listed in the Guinness book of records. People understand this and some resort to this vulnerability to bait their children to create the recipe for claims to make millions. Never land should never had been open to those who schemed like little busy bees to sting and reap the honey from the hive. MJ has died due to his vulnerability and child like persona a Peter Pan of the 21st century. In Hollywood many strange things happen to people and he is just an extension of this, plastic surgery, Botox runs rife in the Hollywood of artificial panacea of anti aging techniques. He as with many others before him will never grow old in a stage show called Hollywood. No congressman has done more for charity on a personal level than did the King of Pop that was Michael Jackson. He did not differentiate between black or white orphanages. Peter King what have you given?

Posted by: john | July 11, 2009, 6:18 am 6:18 am

no one could have said it better than Peter King. MJ was way over glorified I mean heck I work in a prison and even the prisoners said that it’s ridiculous how much coverage he is getting when he should have been in with them. As far as him being acquitted people with money can make a lot of things happen. If he was so innocent why did he have to spend so much money proving it?

Posted by: Casey | July 11, 2009, 4:10 pm 4:10 pm

Congressman King: I am ashamed you represent a population of the United States. Michael Jackson was charged but never found guilty of any of the charges. So, how can you comment as you have? We may not know the truth, but again MICHAEL JACKSON WAS NEVER FOUND GUILTY OF THOSE ACCUSATIONS!

Posted by: Sally | July 11, 2009, 7:10 pm 7:10 pm

remember people Michael plead the fifth!!!!! what does that mean GULITY!!!! All this crap you are reading on the web and news are fakes. They aren’t telling you all the truth behind this story. There is much much more behind it, and the media is only making him look good. They aren’t telling you the whole sentences, and they are mixing them up to make you think this family was only after money…..NO READ THE BOOK “ALL THAT GLITTERS” Get all the real facts!!!!

SHOCKED TO HEAR A MAN OF THIS CALIBER OPEN HIS MOUTH AND SAY ALL THESE AGAINST A PEACEFUL MAN LIKE MJ.CAN YOU RECOUNT THE GOOD WORKS HE DID?WHAT CAN YOU SAY ABOUT THE CHILDREN HE SAVED AND BETTERED THIER LIVES?WHAT CAN YOU SAY ABOUT HIS HUMANITERIAN ACTIVITIES?TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT YOU MUST GIVE ACCOUNT OF ALL VAIN WORDS THAT PROCEEDS FROM YOUR MOUTH.ONE DAY YOU WILL KNOW THAT YOU ARE MORE EVIL THAN MJ WAS. I HATE U

Posted by: NOBLE | July 16, 2009, 1:27 am 1:27 am

Please, do your research before writing such biased articles. MJ did NOT molest those children. To find out more, the following are just a few of the excellent sources of information out there:
Redemption – Geraldine Hughes
Was Michael Jackson Framed?- 1994 GQ article (available online)
Michael Jackson: The King of Pop’s Darkest Hour – Lisa D. Campbell (available on Google Books)
The Michael Jackson Conspiracy – Aphrodite Jones
There’s always the court transcripts themselves too, which go into detail about the 1993 allegations and debunk much of the myths surrounding them. All this information is widely available, and as a media outlet you have an obligation to properly inform the public instead of relying on innuendo as a basis for shaping public opinion.
I will provide the brief facts below:
Michael Jackson was the victim of an extortion plot.
The photographs taken of Michael Jackson taken by the police (which he never, ever should have had to endure) did not correlate with the descriptions given by the child. This is why no charges were laid – the evidence did not exist.
Michael Jackson’s insurance company paid the settlement money without his consent. Michael wanted to take the matter to trial and be vindicated. However, given that he was an enormous commodity in the entertainment industry with the potential to reap hundreds of millions of dollars it was considered better for his overall reputation and career to settle the matter and have it over with rather than go through potentially years of legal wrangling which could do far more damage.
If you read the settlement documents, Michael expressly disclaimed any liability for the acts alleged. The settlement money was paid exclusively in relation to an unrelated claim of negligence.
False allegations are made against celebrities on almost a daily basis, and many settle, despite having no liability, to allow them to get on with their careers. Settlement does not equal guilt. When this came up a second time, Michael was vindicated of all charges in 2005. Millions of taxpayer dollars were spent seeking a prosecution, based on the flimsiest of circumstantial evidence all of which had innocent explanations, that would never come. There was absolutely no evidence of wrongdoing. Michael was innocent.
Before he passed, Michael expressed deep regret over settling the allegations and wished he hadn’t. I too wish the settlement had never happened, because then there would be nothing that could be used as innuendo to suggest he was guilty of something he never did.
