President Obama has chimed in once again on the Professor Gates, Sgt. Crowley saga.  In a 5 minute phone conversation between the President and Sergeant Crowley the two apparently talked about getting together along with Professor Gates for a beer at the White House.  Obama said that Crowley was an outstanding police officer.  He said that he believes that this was a situation where reasonable people overreacted.  But furthermore he hopes this is a "teachable moment" about race.  Obama said the nation still needs to keep talking and dealing with each other rather than just "pumping up the volume".
