Obama Responds to a GOP Line of Attack

Speaking of the administration's push to reform health care, over the weekend Republican Senator Jim DeMint told a conference call that: "If we're able to stop Obama on this, it will be his Waterloo, it will break him and we will show that we can along with the American people, begin to push those freedom solutions that work in every area of our society."  Today, speaking at Children's National Medical Center in DC, President Obama responded with this:  "Think about that.  This isn't about me.  This is about politics.  This is about a health care system that is breaking America's families, breaking America's businesses, and breaking America's economy."

This is certainly about Obama and the dems trying to control every aspect of the lives of americans. When you give people everthing for free is stifles their creativity, takes away their self worth and gives them nothing to work for. This is what the dems want. They want you to be dependent on them for everything. Only problem is, it’s always those who work hard that have to pay for it. How does someone who doesn’t work help pay for this? They don’t. The rich can only pay so much before they arn’t rich anymore then what happens? why must they be responsible for paying for everything? Their money is theirs not yours no matter what you think.

Sen. DeMint’s nifty “freedom agenda” has certainly worked well the last 8 years. Just ask the 20,000 Americans who die every year because they can’t afford health care!

Gives them nothing to work for? You shouldn’t have to WORK for good health. “Life, liberty, and the persuit of happiness” won’t get you far if you can’t affford to live.

We’ll never run out of things to exercise our creativity on (we are American!). We’ll never be too comfortable to care. We still have many challenges. We’re just being freed up to work on things that are important to us, not important to survival. They’re automating living right so we can focus on living well. Paying bills online doesn’t make you less disciplined, it gives you more time to teach your kids to read. The democrats are filling in where businesses, community leaders, and even parents are failing or not fulfilling the American people’s needs, which are endless. I don’t like the idea of having the government running everything, but they are filling the unfulfilled needs. A business or a community of people could probably handle these problems better with less money. The government undercuts businesses filling these needs the same way big business does small businesses(cheaper, faster). To survive, think! If non-government organizations can do it better, cheaper, faster, consumers will cast their ballots for smaller government in the form of dollar bills. In the meantime, I don’t mind not having to get quotes on who’s going to keep up the freeway I take to work.

Public health care, free secondary education, and free job training would be investments in the future of this country–taxes better spent than pouring down the black hole of military adventures overseas and supporting the weapons manufacturers that profit from broken US foreign policy. Stoke creativity by lifting the oppressive burden of for-profit health care from the public.

Universal health care will not resolve the underlining problems that drive up cost and plague the current system. Putting the government on the hook to cover the cost of quacks, vultures, and gamers of the system is not the solution. The proposed plan portends to make health care affordable to everyone. The problems that plague the system has to be resolved or the businesses that are mandated to pay for it will eventually suffocate and there will be fewer “tax payers” to cover the cost. If the government is simply going to print money to cover it then we are talking about a ravenous beast that will consume any ambition the nation has left.
