LTC Karcher IS the only commander I felt comfortable with deploying for the 1st time with. He is not only funny as hell, but he also was a man I would follow TO hell and back. I love him, I only met him personally 5-6 times, but he will always play a large part in all of my training, he was always there telling us how we could do things better. Critical when he needed to be. He is a man truly respect. Not because I have to, but because his demeanor demands respect. I’ll keep you in my thoughts sir, and will always do my best. The best never rest……

Martha, thank you so much for the updates. Since I saw your story on LTC Karcher I haven’t been able to stop thinking/praying for him and his family. I hope to see a follow up from you when LTC Karcher is well enough. He is an inspiration for his dedication and leadership. Please keep us posted.

What happened to Lt.Col. Karcher and his family must have happened so close to the 4th of July just to remind everyone what true Patriotism is. It’s giving your life for your country. We will pray for you.

After working with LTC Karcher during the last deployment, I can honestly say he is on of the FEW Commanders that Soldiers will follow anywhere without ever blinking an eye. God speed to him and my wish for strength to his family at this time.
