Perhaps he should be reading “Aging in America”, and figure out, why seniors are totally opposed to his health plan.

This seems the easiest way to get someone’s attention for a worthy project spearheaded by a US soldier in Iraq. Maybe you’ve already heard about Iraqi Bundles of Love if not go check it out. Definitely a candidate for a Person of the Week.

who really gives a damn what the guy reads?

I care what he’s reading. In my opinion, books are a good way to relax and forget about what’s going on in the world. You can also go to tons of places in the world. It doesn’t matter if the places are real or made up. Just let your mind wander! Right now, I’m reading Angels and Demons by Dan Brown. I’ve already finished The Da Vinci Code in two days! And I’m 14 years old!

“Hot, Flat, and Crowded is classic Thomas L. Friedman—fearless, incisive, forward-looking, and rich in surprising common sense about the world we live in today.” – blurb from Friedman book site
Friedman is smart enough to understand that we really don’t know how much CO2 is contributing to global warming.
Surprising Common Sense would be if some liberal like Tom would own up to that little fact.

I don’t care for fiction as much as he does.

He should also read the original “Lush Life: A Biography of Billy Strayhorn” by David Hajdu and also published by Farrar Straus and Giroux. The 2008 documentary based on this book is the only documentary to win all three awards: Emmy for Best Documentary, Writers Guild Award and the Peabody award.
