This was a stupid post. Do you really think the captains of these million-dollar boats will have problems staying out of Iranian waters?

The whole point of this segment was to say there are better places than in the middle of a hostile area to hold this race. Why go where you know there is danger?

This was a ridiculous post. I’m a Blue-Blood American, a Sailor, live in the UAE and work in the offshore oil Business in the Arabian Gulf. The conditions here are perfect that time of year. The amount of international competitive sailing that occurs here is tremendous along with a very large sailing / yachting community all throughout the UAE. New Zeland trained their last America’s Cup Team here in Dubai. They’ve had AC Challenger Series and many other 12m Class Yacht Races here before – all without incident. Do your homework and get off your Middle Eastern stereo-types promoting fear and enjoy what will be an excellent venue for this event.
