Quotes of the Day

"There's a lot of dollar value in those towers and of course, what they mean to broadcasters in Southern California. It's one of the major communication centers for this part of the country." — Harold McAlister, director, Mt. Wilson Institute, on the fate of transmission towers on Mt. Wilson

“If they're now going to be subject to being investigated and prosecuted by the next administration, nobody's going to sign up for those kinds of missions. It's a very, very devastating, I think, effect that it has on morale inside the intelligence community…I guess the other thing that offends the hell out of me is we had a track record now of eight years of defending the nation against any further mass casualty attacks from al Qaida.” — Former Vice President Dick Cheney

“Certainly, Obama supports much in these proposals — but Barack Obama is our president, not a commentator. Obama's approval numbers would jump 10 points if Americans knew he was fully in charge.” — Former Senator Bob Dole

“Nearly a year after the federal rescue of the nation’s biggest banks, taxpayers have begun seeing profits from the hundreds of billions of dollars in aid that many critics thought might never be seen again.” — Zachery Kouwe, The New York Times

I think Cheney is, unfortunately, still a liar. He doesn’t seem to understand that those attacks on the Twin Towers in 2001 most likely happened BECAUSE of Bush’s election (although Bush was not actually elected – he stole the election with the help of a far right wing Supreme Court justices) and Cheney and the Bush administration’s actions to “protect” us by attacking a country that had nothing to do with the attacks only made us more vulnerable. And his so-called concern about the intelligence community?! He is most likely responsible for “outing” a member of the intelligence community at a critical time – so who is he to complain? Cheney is so clueless. He is a far right wing neocon idealogue who has the backing of a lot of dirty money as far as I’m concerned.

No one should be calling anyone a Liar. The election and court process wasn’t started by Bush/Cheney. It was start by the always whining Democrats. the towers went down because it was in the plans for many many years… try doing some real reading before making the accusations. We don’t know for absolute who all was involved in the Towers/9-11 incident. To listen to News reports and make them gospel is outright not smart…

Before we went to war with Iraq, everyone believed they had WMD (he used biological chemicals, too). For goodness sake he started a war with his neighbors, Kuwait. He was dangerous. There are plenty of people on both sides who said he was a real threat. Other countries, too. I believe that some of their weapons were secretly moved to Syria while we kept waiting to see if Suddam would let those inspectors in. He wouldn’t! At the time I didn’t think we were going in there for 9/11. Saddam wouldn’t let the inspectors in and we gave him months to change his mind.
