Men Are From Mars, First Ladies From Venus?
ABC's Margaret Conley reports from Tokyo: There’s Michelle…and there’s Carla…now we meet the newest member of the first ladies’ club. Miyuki Hatoyama of Japan is expected to be the most colorful first lady the country has seen. The former actress and dancer was a member of the novel and popular all-female theater group Takarazuka Revue. With a passion for healthy cooking, she guests on local TV talk shows to chat about everything from politics to lifestyle trends. She reportedly styles her husband, Japan’s expected Prime Minister-elect Yukio Hatoyama, whose Democratic Party just won the country’s general election in a landslide victory. Mrs. Hatoyama has published books, according to the Associated Press, including Miyuki Hatoyama’s Spiritual Food and Most Bizarre Things I've Encountered. What has generated the most buzz about her in the media is that, among her bizarre encounters, according to Reuters, she writes of being abducted by aliens 20 years ago. "While my body was asleep, I think my soul rode on a triangular-shaped UFO and went to Venus.” A believer in spiritualism and with a sense of humor, Hatoyama said on a local TV talk show in May, according to AP, that she met Tom Cruise in a past life. "I have a dream that I still believe will come true, which is to make a film in Hollywood," she said. "The lead actor is Tom Cruise, of course. Why? Because I know he was Japanese in a previous life.” Cruise did star in The Last Samurai set in Japan. Born in Shanghai to Japanese parents, Hatoyama met her husband in the United States where he received his PhD from Stanford University. Mr. Hatoyama speaks openly about his wife, according to The Independent, "I feel relieved when I get home," he says. "She is like an energy refueling base."

What an uplifting and refreshing story.
Finally a politician who gets his oil change from his wife instead of some tawdry mistress.

I knew there was life on other planets. I just knew it!

I have my doubts. I’ve been to Venus several times, and I’ve never seen Mrs. Hatoyama there. Can we be sure she’s not gotten it confused with Uranus?

Just remember that Venus is the only planet that rotates in the opposite direction of all others.

Noz… how do you know he gets it at home? Often men get Mommy at home and excitement somewhere else. Interesting how married life is “divine” and a lover “tawdry.” Funny how she is “tawdry” and not the cheating husband. Hmmm.
And frankly, I don’t find it uplifting or refreshing that the wife of a world leader thinks she was abducted by a UFO.

Well I don’t but by what he said it seemed he did, although he did say she was a “Base”, which does imply there may be “Outposts” so you may have a point.
