Quotes of the Day
"My understanding is that it was a supporter of health care reform who got into a confrontation with a non-supporter and the non-supporter got his finger bit off…I don't know why his finger ended up in his mouth but it was based on some kind of confrontation between the two." — Capt. Bruce Norris of the Ventura County Sheriff's Department to ABC News.
"With 14 months to go before the 2010 midterm election, something could happen to change the outlook for Democrats. However, wave elections, more often than not, start just like this: The president’s ratings plummet; his party loses its advantage on the generic congressional ballot test; the intensity of opposition-party voters skyrockets; his own party’s voters become complacent or even depressed; and independent voters move lopsidedly away…These were the early-warning signs of past wave elections. Seeing them now should terrify Democrats." – Charlie Cook, in his National Journal column.
“I suspect it's like people look at their families. You know, this is the family – how could it, you know, be different.” — Chief Justice John Roberts, to C-Span, on the arrival of a new Justice
“I'm surprised people consider it unusual that a former politician would be on a dancing show…Politics is also show biz.” — Tom DeLay, new “Dancing with the Stars” contestant

I heard that the non-supporter had “pointed” out an undeniable flaw in the Health Care Reform Bill, thus the supporter did the only thing he/she could think of and got rid of the “pointer”.

On his own words the anti health care reform addmitted on Fox that it was he, the anti who threw the first punch which made contact and then a second which ended in the mouth of the pro reform. What do you expect? it was self defense if some one calls me names I would ignore the ignorant , but if he or she throws a punch look out I would do the same.

The 65 year old guy was completely wrong to throw a punch, but the guy who bit off the fingertip took it way too far. People assume that the Pro Public Option guy was an angel and did nothing at all wrong. That guy didn’t throw a punch for nothing.

Would Tom DeLay have described politics as “show biz” in the years during which he was an influential and powerful Congressman, known as the Hammer?
