Rep. Wilson’s Wife: “Who’s that nut that hollered out ‘you lie?’”
ABC's Jack Date reports from Washington:
Even his wife couldn’t believe Joe Wilson yelled at the President. In a video posted on joewilsonforcongress.com, Wilson’s wife says when her husband called after the speech last week, she said, "Joe who’s the nut that hollered out ‘you lie’ and ‘you liar?'" She says she was in disbelief when the Congressman said, “It was me.”
But, she says he doesn’t deserve the treatment he’s getting from Congress. “He’ll be fine,” she says and "I love him a lot."
Wilson tweeted about his wife's remarks today on Twitter saying, "My wonderful wife Roxanne has made a video for our website."

His wife is right. Joe Wilson was wrong for what he did and deserves to be reprimanded. He is a disgrace to all Americans and I hope he is eventually voted out of office.

When a president is addressing the nation and Congress he should receive the respect the presidential office deserves. I have always felt a sense of pride at how our government officials conduct themselves in transfering power etc… This was embarassing and reprehensible behavior. What a poor example he set for our young people!

I have much respect for the President. I guess Sen. Rangel gets a pass however and he is overseeing the IRS, right? Or did I get that right. Surely, that is not true. And what about ACORN? Anyone care about that? ABC, why are you not reporting any of these breaking stories that do affect the dignity and respect of “the people” of the United States”?

I am so disappointed in ABC news as a whole, I have grown up (40 years) with this news organization and now the coverage is biased to such an extreme. I am moving to a better arena. Going over to FOX

I mean it like talking to children, and we are trying to get an adult to do the right the thing, I have seen children throw the same kind of tantrum when refusing to do the morally right thing, is this what’s been running our country for the past 8 years? People with this kind of Childish behavior.

He was uncivil and tacky – think of him as the Kanye West of the right-wing set. He’s attracted a lot of money from people just like himself.

This is the same kind of childish thinking that got us where we are now, remember ” The fundamentals of the economy is sound, when the truth of the matter was we were sinking like the Titanic, this is the same type of behavior where one can even admit they were wrong….childish behavior.. bomb bomb bomb Iran…childish behavior.

Wilson no longer deserves to have his job or his title, he is the biggest joke in the entire Congress I have never voted in 53 years a single time for any democrat but after watching Joe the Jerk and all the other pompass ass smug (left side of the chamber)republicans stick their noses in the air and disrespect the President of the United States I am so embarrassed that I will not be associated with this party ever again… In the last three years I have broken my neck in 5 places working in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, been under the knife three times, lost my mother, my mother and father in law to alzheimers’,lung cancer and pancreatic cancer respectively, I will never work again and now that I am dependent on Social Security for my welfare I can no longer afford the payments on my home… My wife has limited capabilities from a birth defect in her heart and she can’t (and isn’t expected to) take over the responsibility of being the provider for our family… with all this in mind I have great anticipation about what our future holds as far as the economy, health care and the trust we put in the elected officials to just do the right thing and from what I see at present, it ain’t happenin… although I’ve never considered myself as a mainstream kind of person I hope and pray that I am not the only one who is completely disgusted with Washington politics as usual and maybe just maybe come election day we are heard loud and clear just what we expect from the lawmakers and let them know just how temporary their position is….I think it’s time for a new and different approach to solving the problems we face here at home and our seemingly unlimited ability to stick our noses in other countries business’ I say let’s temporarilly close our borders, bring ALL the boy’s and girl’s serving abroad home, get our own problems fixed and then ask who needs our help and offer our services to the highest bidder and stop giving away our future and our children’s future… and one last thing I would ask the politicians to please stop embarrasing us in the world’s eyes and do the job you were hired to do and then just shut up!!!

I don’t like any of it and not to justify Wilsons comment but hissing and booing ,as Bush endured, is just as demeaning. And even as bad is someone who gets up and calls the President, any President, a liar to the press or makes wild accusations such as ; saying the President was killing people for entertainment.
I don’y know where this Nazi stuff came from either but people need to put this tactic to rest.

Wilson’s wife thought the perpetrator was a nut job right up until she found out it was her loving husband. Well she was right the first time. Wilson is a nut job zand sometimes people don’t really see someone as they really are because of the blinders they wear. This nut is typical of the entire republican party right now. Instead of stepping back and taking a good look at what’s wrong with themselves they all just banded together and made a pact that they wanted America and Obama to fail since they were not the majority anymore. Pretty childish behavior and dangerous for America. America would be better off without this party of no.

Oh and Jimmy Carter, a former president finally told it like it is. Wilson’s behavior is birthed out of deep psychological racism and his son’s defense of him is just another example of racists not knowing they are racist. It’s not about illegal aliens getting healthcare,it’s about Obama being part black, and that is what the outburst and the GOP sentors tweeting during Obama’s speech is all about. WAKE UP AMERICA!

Rep. Wilson is a joke just like the rest of them. Vote them all out of office NOW! Leadership is not yelling like a child at the most powerful man in the world. Rep. Wilson showed us all his lack of maturity and respect. Whey are we spending more money? Why are we increasing the size of gonvernment when it should be getting smaller. If you don’t exercise your rights, then you won’t miss them when there gone.

I have watched conservative commentators blast the Democrats for holding a vote regarding Wilson’s remarks, believing that they are wasting tax payer money to hold such vote when they could be discussing health care.
If we do not maintain proper decorum in the capital, any hope for meaningful debate would be lost, with discussions on the House and Senate floors resembling these ridiculous “tea parties”, which feature people brandishing signs of hatred and irrelevance, spouting misinformation left and right.

He apologized quickly to the White House, they accepted the apology. Dems are making political hay out of this when they did the same to Bush and WORSE. They booed Bush on the Senate floor, Nazi, loser are some comments by Pelosi and Reid. Decorum is not due to the “Enemy Within”.

Notice that Rangel and Geithner are still in power…TAX CHEATS. Acorn corruption, Pelosi and her jets home every weekend, Van Jones, Cass Sustein advising from the kooky, militant left…nothing is said from the Dems; all this should trump an unfortunate remark made in the heat of the moment. Waxman’s leislation alone should make the Dems hang their heads. All this phoney outrage is hard to stomach from the dirty pool party.

Rep. Wilson’s outburst was reprehensible. Regardless of whether you agree or disagree with the man, President Obama deserves the respect and civility due his office. This mearly exemplifies the degeneration of the GOP since they they were smacked down at the polls twice. That being said, the House Dem’s actions against Wilson were completely unecessary and simply contribute tho the highly partisan atmosphere of our government.

Its’ a shame that many in congress would try every dirty trick in the book to bring this man down. He knew he was on national tv and wanted to embarrassing him on nnational tv. The same tactics they used in the town hall meetings..
He said he said he was sorry but yet he’s out signing autographs of pictures with himself making that rude comment. doesn’t sound like he’s sorry to me. Sounds like he’s enjoying the fact that he just got away with trying to embarrass the President on national tv and riling up the gun nuts in thsi country..
Posted by: Marvin Tillman | September 16, 2009, 10:19 am 10:19 am
I have thought about this and I agree that it was the wrong venue to disagree with the president; however, I appreciate and respect Wilson for demanding the president to account for himself. Obama has said he would call people on their lies so why should he be exempt? And this is not a question of race in fact Bush underwent the same if not worse treatment so why is one racist if the other is not? Prejudice and racism extends to all colors, nationalities, sexual preference, gender, age, and income. What has changed with Obama other than the Democrats not willing to concede that the majority of this nation wants equality? Are they stuck on tradition or do they want to keep stirring the cauldron? And on another note – Wilson has apologized to Obama personally. He does not owe the public and apology. Plain and simple! The public certainly does not apologize for their actions and reactions for the most part. This just proves the ignorance and deep seated racism towards a white person for treating a black person the same as they would want to be treated

Note to Mrs. Wilson…..we need a candidate who is willing to speak the truth…..even if he might occasionally do it at an improper moment.
Perhaps Mr. Wilson should run in opposition to Mr. Obama. The country needs someone who knows how to speak the truth.

What’s wrong with our society? Mr. Wilson all you need to do is to say you are sorry. Come on, that is not so hard to do. All of you in Congress that can’t seem to work together and pass healthcare reform just ask yourself what would Jesus do? He would want to help all those who are in need.
