President Obama On Hand For Return of Fallen
Last Night President Obama made a surprise visit to Dover Air Force Base. Dover is where the caskets of fallen soldiers return to the US from Afghanistan. Last night, several of the fallen came home to their nation and their loved ones. President Obama was there for the solemn ceremony and met with the families.
The visit comes as the President continues to review America’s goals and strategy in Afghanistan. Will we increase troops? It is worth noting that while President Bush visited with grieving families, he never went to Dover Air Force Base for the arrival of the fallen. It wasn’t until recently that policy was changed allowing the media – with permission of the families – to photograph and capture video of these solemn arrivals. ABC’s Jake Tapper reports on last night.

Just another photo op, for the “Hollywood” President.

It is appropriate that the President honor those who died in the service of our country. It was the right thing when Bush visited families of those who died, it is the right thing for Obama to honor the return of the fallen.

If he really cared about the troops he would end this war. Didn’t it just come out in the NYTimes that Afghanistan’s biggest druglord is on the CIA payroll? Did we learn NOTHING from BCCI, IranContra, AirAmerica, Panama Invasion, etc?
And what about the missing millions from Iraq (you remember when we were literally flying pallets of untraceable cash)? And what happened to a proper investigation of all the profiteering of contractors, companies, etc (everything from showers that electroshock troops by bad wiring, bulletproof vests that aren’t bulletproof, armorless vehicals, and so on)?
War is often a racket and Obama is, apparently, a part of it.

I believe Pres. Obama went out there to help cement his decision on this war.

It is fitting that Pres Obama chose to personally witness the return of our fallen heroes. However, it is not fitting that a camera crew recorded the details and broadcast on national news!
