Top Republican Asks, ‘What Up?’

So the chairman of the Republican National Committee, Michael Steele, fresh from his post-Nobel Prize bashing of President Obama, has a new blog. It appears he wants to show a hipper, cutting-edge side, beginning with the title of his interactive column: “What Up?” The inaugural column begins, “The Internet has been around a while, now…” Here it is… http://www.gop.com/index.php/chairman_steele/

Democrats don’t write blogs or newspaper columns?
Communication and research are good things. All parties should welcome everybody to participate instead of showing fear and frustration that there is competition.

The arrogance of a Nobel committee. Committees that select individuals for awards should be bound by established guidelines and expectations of those that establish/fund the award. In the case of Economics every award has gone to recipients that have had a long record of achievement. Every recipient of the economics prize is widely recognized in the fields. Are there non-recipients that are as deserving or more deserving?- often yes. But none of the rewards are given to a researcher in his first two weeks of appointment to a university or research center. The people peace prize committee should be replaced for failure to follow the original intent – reward for achievement.

A more appropriate title might be: “Which way is up”?
