"GMA" Cuts NBC Total Viewer Lead 9%; Cuts Adult 25-54 Lead By 8% (vs Previous Week)

"Good Morning America" Increases Its Lead in both Total Viewers and the Adult 25-54 Demo Over CBS' "The Early Show"

According to Nielsen Media Research for the week of October 19, 2009, ABC News' "Good Morning America" continued to perform strongly against the competition. Compared to the same time last week, "GMA" cut into NBC's Total Viewer lead by 9%; 8% smaller in the Adult 25-54 demo. In addition, "GMA" continued to widen its lead with CBS' "The Early Show". Compared to the same time last week, "GMA" widened its lead double digits in both Total Viewers and the Adult 25-54 demo – 16% larger in the demo and 13% larger in Total Viewers. For the most recent week, "Good Morning America" posted the largest weekly growth of all three morning programs in both Total Viewers and Adult 25-54 – up 90,000 viewers in the demo and 110,000 in Total Viewers, resulting in "GMA's" strongest Total Viewer delivery since the week of May 25, 2009.

ABC News' "Good Morning America" is co-anchored by Diane Sawyer and Robin Roberts. Chris Cuomo is the news anchor and Sam Champion is the weather anchor. The Emmy Award-winning morning news program airs live Monday through Friday from 7:00 to 9:00am/EDT on the ABC Television Network. Jim Murphy is the senior executive producer and Tom Cibrowski is the executive producer of ABC News' "Good Morning America."
