Documenting the Planet’s Demise — One Striking Photograph at a Time
In just about two weeks, world leaders will gather in Copenhagen for a summit to tackle the consequences of climate change. And some of the most compelling evidence they'll consider comes from one man — and his camera. Daniel Beltra has dedicated the last 20 years of his much admired career to conservation. He has traveled across the globe — to Congo, Brazil, Indonesia and more – to capture the effects of the changing environment on nature. His images are striking and, he hopes, highlight the tragedy of climate change while keeping people engaged. CLICK HERE to see a slideshow of his stunning work. And you can visit his website HERE.

The American Association for The Advancement of Science has called climate change a fake, simply follow the money trail and you will see sombody is making a killing. We should go with Sarah Palin drill baby drill.

Too bad this documentation, while worth while, is being used by ABC for the wrong reasons. Did ABC miss the annoucement that there is no “Global Warming”. So we call it “climate change’,well the climate is & has always changed !!!

The scientists have always called it climate change, hence the name of the IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change), established over two decades ago.

“The scientific evidence is clear: global climate change caused by human activities is occurring now, and it is a growing threat to society.” AAAS Board Statement on Climate Change
I encourage everyone to take 30 seconds with google to verify the above and then ask why folks like earl have to resort to such obvious lies to support their opinion.

“The scientific evidence is clear: global climate change caused by human activities is occurring now” – from jhw539
Of course that’s true to some extent but no one knows how much.
Maybe 2% of Climate Change is due to Human activity?
Maybe 5%?
Who knows?
Volcano’s cause climate change.
Cow flatulence causes climate change.
The earth’s changing albedo causes climate change.
The sun’s fluctuations in solar output causes climate change.
The list is endless.
I dare anyone here to explain how CO2 is causing the earth to warm up.
Remember, if you can’t explain it so a 6th grader understands you don’t know what you’re talking about.

O.K. Noz, with all due respect. Anyone who uses the term “albedo” already knows the answer to the “dare” you posit.

A good photographer, no doubt sincere, but his photos are being used to perpetrate the myth that we can change the climate.
The number of polar bears, for example, increased last year.
If cap and trade becomes law it will impact every aspect of life as we know it, everything we consume will cost us as energy costs and taxes are passed down to the consumer.

When you quote from the AAAS you should read the whole thing they recalled and allowed that origional quote that you used was made in error and called it a fake. They are now calling global warming fake.

The deal is that our planet as we know it is changing climate naturally, but all the big wigs have taking this chance to completely write off what we have done to such a wonderful planet. “No Global Warming.” We don’t care about our ecosystems at all, 2012 will be a self fulfilled prophecy. Its more devastating to see these effects as a 21 year old, because all my for fathers have screwed everything up so badly my efforts seem to be in vein

In response to Ed Taylor. Its about damn time we take responsibility for our consumer ways. We are a virus on this planet and nobody wants to do anything to change that.

“We are a virus on this planet” – Randy
What an unenlightened goofy thing to say.
Dearest Randy,
Planets are a dime a dozen.
Human Beings are so very rare and thus so very precious.

Nuts that resort to calling others liers should remember the first rule of the O.S.L. never put in writing what you might want to deny latter when you are proven wrong.

Next big breaking story:
“Pakistan’s Nukes”
I can guarantee you.
I’ve been harping on this for the past few months.
ABC has not picked up on the story as far as I can tell.
Just heard on CNN (for the First Time) about this problem. Pres. Obama is now THINKING about it and what to do about it.
I like a thinking President, but, my goodness, Pres. Obama better make some decisions soon. He’s just voting “PRESENT” again, but you can’t do that when you are “The One” who makes these kind of decisions.
Pakistan needs to be dealt with very quickly and precisely. We will live to regret this otherwise.
p.s. to jhw
Apparently, tort reform can be dealt with in Congress. President Obama stated to 60 Minutes that “tort reform” is off the table because they refuse to set standards. They COULD do it; they just WON’T do it -
according to President B. H. Obama.
No apology is necessary. Thank you.

Climate change is just a way of saying the earth is constantly undergoing change…always has and always will.

Aww..if only we would all hold hands and skip to work. Randy, dont blame your father for earth’s chnages, I doubt he was around for the end of the ice age or any of the other “changes” our planet has gone through.
Posted by: Climate change | November 23, 2009, 12:34 am 12:34 am
Randy,
If the “virus” humans were gone, the planet would be saved. Of course no one would be here to appreciate it.

20 years worth of pix don’t prove squat.
If teh tree-huggers are correct about evolution then this planet and life aboard have been around for “billions and billions of years” as Carl would’ve said – - and if that’s true, then 1 must look @ eons of trends.

World leaders are only concerned about their economies.
The reality that the planet can pass the “point of no return”, in 50 yrs. or less, at current levels of environmental destruction, caused primarily by over-population of the human species, is totally lost on world leaders, because they only concern themselves with NOW.
The planet is on a runaway train, with no way to get off. Sooner or later, there will be train wreck, and most are going to die.

True, not true, or somewhere in between – let’s play it safe and clean up our act as much as we can across the world. If nothing else, it will probably help people breathe better and feel like they are actually helping people and the planet.
You ever hear the old saying: “You shouldn’t “mess” on where you sleep.”
Clean the water, the land, and the air up. I’m certainly not a “tree hugger” or whatever people call them, but it’s just common sense to keep this planet clean.

The moon, mars and other nearbyheavenly bodies are barren for a reason. They aslo argued a long time ago that the Roman Empire will never fall-it did.The Earth will continued to be abused and continue for ever-no it will not. The stars die so will Earth. The level of oxygen in the atmosphere used to be more than 30%, allowing giant creatures on the planet to flurish. Now it is hovering around (19-21)%. Think about that. After a while the atmosphere will not support life like we know. You can argue as much as you want- a day of reconing is around the corner for the stupid humans, who have not figured out how they got here in the first place- much less proclaiming to be masters of the place hanging in space.

The only thing that is getting greener is ol fat Al Gore. He has done more damage to the planet than anyone. He is just out for revenge for 2000.

CRU Files Betray Climate Alarmists’ Funding Hypocrisy
By Marc Sheppard
It seems that while scientists who accept funding from oil companies are branded as bought-and-paid-for shills, those financed by renewable energy interests remain unchallenged authorities in their fields. Words can’t adequately express my astonishment.
Amid the thousands of files apparently lifted from Britain’s Climate Research Unit (CRU) last week sit two documents on the subject of the unit’s funding. One is a spreadsheet logging the various grants CRU chief P.D. Jones has received since 1990. It lists 55 such endowments from agencies ranging from the U.S. Department of Energy to NATO, worth a total of £13,718,547, or approximately $22.6 million. I guess cooking climate data can be an expensive habit, particularly for an oft-quoted and highly exalted U.N. Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) chief climatologist.
