How is President Obama Doing?
Afghanistan, health care, the recovery from recession, continuing job loss, how is the President Obama doing?
ABC News along with the Washington Post is out with a poll today that finds 56% of the nation approves of the job President Obama is doing. The headline on our website this morning is “Obama Approval Shows Durability.”
How about health care reform? Here is an excerpt from our polling director Gary Langer’s piece: “Negatives abound: Fifty-four percent of insured Americans think it'll increase their own costs; among all, 56 percent think it'll raise overall costs, six in 10 think it could shut down many private insurers and 61 percent oppose covering abortions in federally supported plans. For all that, sweetened by other, more popular elements, the plan's holding essentially at an even split, 48 percent in favor, 49 percent opposed”.

Either people are just blind to reality, or they simply don’t get it.
There is almost nothing happening, to make things better for citizens.
How anyone can put a stamp of approval on Obama, at this point in time, is beyond me.

Unbelievable – what a change. Just look at the stimulus web site. New congressional districts. What a great idea. You talk about progressive and honesty.

Scandal after scandal with this president. Now his health care appointee is already showing how cuts will take place with his reform with mamograms cuts for women until the age of 50. My wife was 42 when they found her breast cancer. If she waited to 50 she would be dead. This president is the cancer and needs to be removed from office.

The only thing he has done is give money to the wrong people (rewarding gambling because it was payback for he being financed by them) and an expensive “cash for clunkers” program that hurt the poor because it increased the price of used cars due to supply and demand.
I’d really like to see which passport he used when he went to Europe in college since the USA passport wasn’t being allowed where he went.

He’s doing a lot better than the last guy, AND he’s having to clean up the mess left behind.
I disagree with some of the specifics, but overall, considering the disasters Bush created and/or mismanaged, Obama is doing more than I thought he could get accomplished in a year.
Worth recalling that Bush spent a great deal of his entire administration on vacation, instead of tackling any problem other than how to send other people off to die in unnecessary wars. We’ll recover from the deficit spending soon enough, but it will be a long time before we recover from the damage that Bush did to the USA and the world. Criminal incompetence.

Makes you wonder what shenanigans were happening in the traditional way of doing things, where no information at all was ever posted. Yes, the stimulus web site IS a great idea – it putting a thousands eyes to work to correct bad government data. From the volume of whining, you’d think many would have preferred if the website didn’t exist and all the supporting documentation and assumptions weren’t made freely and easily available to citizens.

These so-called polls are LIES! We are becoming well educated, and it’s about time. Just because it is said by those we “should” consider are doing honest reporting, enough times, doesn’t make it true. He will go down in history as being the biggest liar and fraud our country has ever known. Does anyone really believe “in the company of thieves” such as Pelosi, Geithner, ACORN (who he defended) that he is anything else. Not just a hint of dishonesty; but we have concrete proof of lies! What is wrong with this picture?

No one expected anything “such as CHANGE” from Bush. Have we forgotten so soon Clinton was there? How much of this is still H. Clinton? Obama has done nothing; except give his democrats an open checkbook and every little thing their hearts desire. He’s done nothing. I hope these representatives all realize that they are “not” untouchable, and this country is still run by the voters. Elections come and go, and this entire Palin thing is they are posturing themselves already for up coming elections! I say the proper word is RECALL, RECALL, RECALL, RECALL!

Obama has done nothing. They say the stimulus is working but they can’t even get that right. Reporting from districts that don’t even exist..Whats wrong with this government. They should’ve bailed out the American people not the banks and autos.

How in the world can anyone say that this obama guy is better than Bush. When Bush left office we owed 489 billion dollars and thanks to obama we owe 1.4 trillion that almost twice and in only 8 mo. wait till this cap&trade and obama-care pass’s.He said judge him by the people he surrounds himself with well lets see one is a devot communist, another agress or suports pedophiles, and another loves and thinks communist leader Moa is a great man. Is this the change that we are lokking for under obama we are going to loose America to the socilist world with obama as the world leader. There is not one positive thing he has done for this country except say he is sorry and that we need to repay the world for our so called mistakes. I guess giveing the world freedom and all the money they can spend and ending hitlers reien is not good enough for them. As i see it we Americans need to say we are very sorry for obama and we will do much better in 2012. Impeach him now.

First, engineers have a saying; “statistics lie and liars do statistics”. You can make them say just about anything you want if you couch the question in a way favorable to your cause. That goes to both the right and left of all issues. As for the left-leaning government we currently have, do be aware that, the more left you lean, the more of the centrists you cut out of the equation and the more of them that defect from your positions to the right. The conservatives need to also be aware of this. There are a lot of accusations going around about the administration. I would say that you should not be flinging manure around; it only gets your hands dirty in the process. Stick to reasoned arguments and facts that are verifiable. Avoid strident tirades and more folks will listen to you. I served two tours in Iraq and, there’s few if any of us that don’t believe we were doing an important mission for our country. The same goes for current operations. As for health care reform, there are some issues that need addressed but, the Democratic plans are overkill to what is a fairly simple problem. Reduce the draconian lawsuits (get lawyers out of the equation entirely) and you’d reduce costs. If there were no allowance for denying folks for “pre-existing conditons” then there would be no need for “portability” because the new company would have to pick you right up. If the poor can’t pay, take a look at what Oklahoma is doing. It works in our state so, it will work anywhere. Try to be civil. We are all still Americans; even if we don’t want to share the same room or air. We in the service would die for any of you; either side; who is called American.

Get Real, Americans by significant majority disagree with everything this idiot is doing but still is satisfied with his performance?
Nothing as insidious in research than the introduction of conscious and unconscious bias!

I’m sorry, but years ago I was taught — FIGURES LIE AND LIARS FIGURE. You can make numbers prove anything you want them to. This man has his own agenda and it is NOT the one of the American people. Don’t listen to what he says but watch what he does. He still has his eyes on ruling the world. He refuses to put his hand over his heart in salute to the flag, but he’ll bow to any foreign leader. He does not deserve to lead this great country.

President Obama is not being anywhere nearly aggressive enough in rescinding the immoral and regressive Bush / Neo-con administration policies and in their place implementing progressive and humanistic policies. If our coountry wants to survive as a prosperous secular Democracy, we should reject the proposed health care plans because it has no comprehensive public option and start all over again next year, with women’s reproductive rights fully covered including funding for termination of early pregnancies. We should withdraw immediately from Iraq and Afghanistan and work out a more effective anti-Islamic strategy with other interested countries who wish to retain their secular freedoms. We should immediately close Guatanamo and similar facilities and renounce torture to show the world that we intend to re-take the moral highground that we lost during the Bush (mal)administration. President Obama’s mantra – “change we can believe in” – has yet to become a reality for most of us, but at least President Obama has pointed our society in the right direction at long last after 8 disastrous years of Republican stupidity and incompetence.

Starting with the health care plan even split, 48 percent in favor, 49 percent opposed the negatives will only continue to grow as more people recognize the false promises being made.

will bring us to the edge of the cliff.

to those with only their own interests at heart, obama can do no wrong. I’m white, and I would’ve voted for Colin Powell in a heartbeat. Everyone is saying “Tax the rich”. Don’t you know that “they” will trickle down those new taxes to everyone else?

He is sucking Americans in with his smooth-talking….look at the WALK – not the TALK!!! He is walking us right down the path of socialism and spending this country dry in the process! Those of you who voted for him should have paid attention that he had never been in charge of a budget prior to his election….and it’s showing!!

A gun store I frequent has named President Obama to be “Salesman of the Year”. The Republican party should give him some kind of recognition. He’s doing more for the Republicans than they could do for themselves.

Thank you Damrine:
Thank you for serving our country…We citizens thank you and all our military personnel for keeping us free and protecting our rights and free speech.
I hope you and others that have given so much in Iraq and Afganistan will not be undone by this Administration.

So he’s accomplished NOTHING, is surrounded by Marxists (at least three have left under pressure), can’t even get Dems to vote for thier OWN bills, bows to everyone with a title, apologizes for our country, support is crumbling, wants “single-payer” healthcare with less approval ratings than Hillary-Care, WHAT A LOSER!!!! — I can’t wait until the next election!!!!!!!!
Posted by: HoosierValues | November 17, 2009, 11:23 pm 11:23 pm
Even his website telling us how good he is doing can’t get it right.
Sarah Palin gives him a “four”, I think she was too generous!
Please, please America don’t let this man control your healthcare or tax your energy!

Not to worry.
Little by little people are catching on to him. Check his rating(s) now v. his rating(s) come 2010 after Harry let’s us common folk read ‘the bill.’ Even the Dem’s are starting to get on Axelrod’s case. Just remember Mr. Cool is at 52 to 54% overall good now…but let’s look again in July. Politico has @ 8 polls graphed over 9 months..and the trend line is not going north.

56% of the nation approves of the job President Obama is doing?
I ask where is this handful of supporters. I have over 100 constituents near me that fear for their jobs, their security, their future. I am guessing this number ’56′ is just as fake as BO’s stimulus jobs.

Proves once again that abc, nbc, and cbs have a liberal bias. how can obama’s poll number be 55% whereas all other polls show him at less than 50%??

President Obama is WONDERFUL. Most people are just racist. He is doing very well. But when Bush cheated his way into office everyone was fine with that. But your opinion is yours.
