Quotes of the Day: “The Worst Bill Ever”

“I hoped there would be a better process. But it is final — I will not participate.” – Abdullah Abdullah, challenger to Afghan President Hamid Karzai, on his decision to withdraw from a runoff election

“(David) Hoffman could well win, giving short-term succor to the GOP and [Sarah] Palin's exclusionary, storm-the-barricades brand of Republicanism. And who knows when and where this will stop — or where it will lead?  It has all the elements of a runaway train, and very few Republicans are willing to step in front of it.” — Jill Lawrence, Politics Daily, on the wild and suddenly national-interest race in New York’s 23rd congressional district

“After months of plodding work by five Congressional committees and weeks of back-room bargaining by Democratic leaders, President Obama’s arms-length strategy on health care appears to be paying dividends, with the House and the Senate poised to take up legislation to insure nearly all Americans.” — Robert Pear and Sheryl Gay Stolberg write in The New York Times.

The Worst Bill Ever.” – headline of the lead editorial in The Wall Street Journal, describing Nancy Pelosi’s health care bill

"This one belongs in the hall of fame. By their logic, you can spray vitamins on a pile of leaves, and it will boost immunity." — Kelly Brownell, director of Yale University's Rudd Center for Food Policy and Obesity, on the new claim on Kellogs’ Cocoa Krispies cereal boxes – that the cereal "now helps support your child's IMMUNITY."

Speaker Nancy Pelosi has reportedly told fellow Democrats that she’s prepared to lose seats in 2010 if that’s what it takes to pass ObamaCare, one can only hope that one of those seats lost will be hers!
Even a WSJ editorial calls her 1990 page bill “The Worst Bill Ever”. It also says, “Epic new spending and taxes, pricier insurance, rationed care, dishonest accounting: The Pelosi health bill has it all.”
This bill would not stand up to the test of “town hall” meetings, it is pur and simple a disaster. And just take a peek at the abortion double speak on page 110!

As usual the WSJ clearly defines Repube values-money before life. No, the worst bill was the 1965 Gult of Tonkin Resolution, closely followed the 2003 Iraq War Authorization bill.

Pelosi, Reid & Dodd are all in trouble in their home state. Along with Maxine Waters, who told CEO’s for the oil industry wait until the gov’t takes over their company and in the same breath said socialism. The only hope is that ACORN and other community organizers fill the voting box up for them like they did for Obama.
This is a train wreck. Sunday the news was CTI was going to file bankruptcy and the gov’t would not see OUR money repaid for the loan. Now GM is going under and once again we will NOT see OUR money, now our messed up gov’t wants to spend over a trillion dollars on health care for less than 15% of the uninsured Americans and illegals.
I think I am going to start looking for an island to move to.
