Quotes of the Day: ‘The worst thing we can do is nothing’
"Their memory will be honored in the places they lived and by the people they touched. Neither this country, nor the values that we were founded upon, could exist without men and women like these 13 Americans." — President Obama, at Fort Hood
"Based on what we know now, neither the United States Army nor any other organization within the Department of Defense knew of Major Hasan's contacts with any Muslim extremists." — A senior Pentagon official.
“Yes, and yes.” — Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., on whether a health care reform bill would be on the floor next week, and finished by Christmas.

Doing something that takes this country
in a bad direction is worse than doing
nothing.

I agree with Clinton. Doing nothing is really not an option. Republicans don’t even want to do nothing. However, the problem is that Republicans will pander to those who think there are easy solutions to complex problems and talk the problem to death until nothing is done in the name of less government.
So, same result. However, Democrats themselves will be to blame for Healthcare failure by over-reaching and over-reacting.

The worst thing we can do, is the Wrong thing!

I agree. We, the greatest country on the planet should have 100 percent free health care, instead it’s just another tax hike and if you don’t pay well fine you and probably send you off to prison. Meanwhile the insurance company’s will still deny referals. Then, there’s the problem with the federal income tax, why is it still in place when not all states ratified it, in effect making it illegal. Think about that the next time the IRS says you owe money. Our government is about greed diversion lies and they are useless

“The worst thing we can do is nothing.” — Bill Clinton, on health care
Not true, but then again Bill has an aversion to the Truth.
Doing something that’s wrong can create more damage than good.
Please Obi-Wan Senators, get it right, you’re our only hope!

Anything we do would be better than the pathetic health delivery system we have now. We spend the most and our health is not even the best.
Other countries do not let ideology stand in the way – they just solve problems.
Clinton is ABSOLUTELY correct !

I don’t agree that the worst thing is doing nothing. Much of the Senior health care is working. Why ruin what works? The bad thing is to change our health care system and raise all of our income tax to the point of what Sweden and Norway pay. I think it’s like 80%. But everyone is covered. At what cost? A lot! Many are out of work now, no jobs. They have been sent abroad, China, Peru. Everywhere but here. Who is going to pay for our health care. There are only so many wealthy people. What happens when you run out of other peoples money?

Forest Gump – “Stupid is as Stupid Does” In this case Clinton’s right as he was in almost everything he did as a President, unlike his incompetent predecessor.
Look at the facts and see just how right he is:
1. We spend twice as much as any other country and still rank 37th in life expectancy.
2. In overall care we are even ranked worst.
3. We rank 27th worst in death caused by needless
delays (We have just about the worse rationing of
health care among advanced countries right now.)
4. We have people dying all the time because they can’t afford health care or because the insurance companies work so hard to slow up critical care by objecting to tests and procedures that might lower their bottom line.
5. The care already given by two GOVERNMENT programs called Medicare and Vets’ Care is better than insurance controlled care.
6. The bill offered by the House contains a public option that is hardly “socialism.” Actual doctors, nurses, etc. are not hired or employed by the government as they would be in socialism.
7. Currently health insurance companies have entirely too much control over the entire system: they are the ONLY business exempt from anti-monopoly laws outlined in the Sherman Anti-Trust Bill.
8. Consequently, the insurance markets in more than 30 states are controlled by one or two companies and competition for our hard-earned premium money is virtually nonexistent.
Where’s the “free enterprise” here? Where’s the competition there’s supposed to be in a capitalistic country? If the government is so inefficient as some of you claim with no evidence, then why is the present system under the private insurance companies down there with third world countries in efficiency and FIRST in costs to us? Also, if the gov.
is so inefficient, why are the best health systems for most people currently run by none other than the government, and why can’t the so-called more efficient private insurers COMPETE with them?
It’s time now to look at the FACTS and put aside the propaganda deluge aimed at the naive and the too lazy to do some actual research by the insurance companies. We are the only country where health care routinely bankrupts our people. We are the only country that RATIONS health care on the basis of pre-existing conditions. We are the only country where desperately sick people are routinely dropped by health care companies to cut their costs. (Another death panel.) It’s time for change.

No job? No health insurance-
No health insurance? That gets you another bill to pay – the penalty for not having a job to get health insurance. What do the senators consider ‘affordable’ health care?
They never really say, do they?
Are the senators now going to go after Campaign Contribution Reform?
When will the senators get out of the pocket of health care industry?
They won’t allow meds to come from other countries because the senators promised the drug companies that this won’t be allowed.
Look it up and you’ll see.
