Quotes of the Day: ‘There is precisely one superstar in the Republican Party’

“I’m absolutely convinced that Khalid Sheikh Mohammad will be subject to the most exacting demands of justice. The American people insist on it. My administration will insist on it.” – President Obama, on the news that the 9-11 mastermind and other terrorism suspects will be brought to the United States for trial

“Everybody out there ought to just shut up.” – Defense Secretary Robert Gates, on leaks to the media surrounding the President’s looming decision on troops for Afghanistan

“There is precisely one superstar in the Republican Party — and she happens, by choice, not to hold elected office, or feel as if she owes much of anything to anyone in the party establishment.” – Rick Klein, ABC News, on – guess who?

“The chairman of the Republican National Committee announced late Thursday that he is unilaterally ending coverage of elective abortion under the RNC's Cigna health-care plan.” – ABC’s Teddy Davis

Charles gibson is quoted as saying Fox News and MSNBC are biased and he is afraid the “lame-stream” media is hurting journalism. I have an alert for Mr. Gibson ABC is part of the “lame-stream” media and Mr. Gibson showed his bias with the unfair questioning of Palin while letting anything Obama slip by unnoticed e.g. ACORN fraud, SEIU thug attacks in St. Louis and Sacramento, VAn Jones humiliation, enomomy fiasco, unemployment number lies, Transparency Obama promised, Health Care 5 day waiting period for us to review and discuss as Obamapromised, Afghan troops and making a decision, the continued lies of Obama which Gibson and ABC ignore just like everyone but FOX NEWS. I will only watch Fox News until someone else shows an unbiased accounting of Obama.

1. The original intent was to try Gitmo detainees at Gitmo. That is still the best plan.
2. Sorry, Mr. gates, but there are only 2 simple options in Afghanistan, one very unpopular, and one self-defeatist. Not much decision making there, just unpopular choices.
3. The GOP has to come up with better candidates than they have now, to appeal to the independents, like me.
4. There are 2 things the GOP stands for, that are basically stupid.
One is their anti-abortion position. Someone needs to wake them up…..in the Dallas Independent School District, 86% of the kids are underpriveleged, financially. That will translate to every other major inner city in the country as well. What that means, is we are encouraging people who cannot afford to provide for children, to have children. That is, frankly, stupid.
Second, their position on gay rights, is also stupid. It is based on religion, and not on science. Picking any group of people to ostracize, and mistreat, is not politically correct.
Last, as an independent, I expect several things from political candidates, that are, at best, scarce. One is ethics. Another is religion stays at home at not in the office. Another is that the elected representative, listens to the citizens. Lastly, the representative uses an objective approach, makes some genuine effort to look at reality and practicality, and above all else, is NOT influenced by special interests…(which translates to the wealthy and powerful…..and most political candidates tend to be from that group….unfortunately.)

Gibson is absolutely correct about FauxNews. And thank goodness, their numbers are hurting. Any American opposed to the paranoia, racism, treasonous rejectionism, warmongering, corporate corruption and militarism of Republicans should avoid Fox unless you want to breed a new generation of killers for the KKK and NRA. And in spite of their supposed commitment to “family values,” Fox continues to broadcast the most coarse, despicable, filthy drivel that any network has to offer. In summary, it is the perfect vehicle for the mindless sheep of the hyprocritical and xenophobic conservatives.

There is really only one answer:
Bring all our troops home now and let the Arabs kill each instead.

jenny: What’s your excuse for not writing a book? It looks like jealousy is getting the best of you over Palin like the majory of the public. Set out to accomplish your goals like she did and you won’t be jealous of her.

Florida: Good for you. Your words are absolutely right. The media favors Obama no matter how many lies he has told already, did not keep his campaign promises and cannot make decisions on war. Let’s hope we have better luck in the next election.

MariannPepitone…sheep you are…turn your station on FauxNews and join in the distortion, screaming, angry, racist, made-up lies and utterly stupid people there that are lining their pockets, while sheeps will remain stupid for a lifetime. In the meantime, do your research, ACORN has been around longer than Mr Obama as has SEIU…Sorry, America has a REAL president that is working for America, even with you in it.

Your right. Why are we defending other countries and letting our young men get killed doing it. Obama promised to bring the troops home and hasn’t even started it yet. And the public believed his every word. Nixon ended the Vietnam war when he got elected, why can’t Obama follow suit. It appears he has a hard time making decisions.

Afghanistan is the same as it’s been for centuries. It will be the same for centuries to come. Nothing will change despite what we would like.
It’s like beating mountain goats until they act like a prince. How foolish is that?
There are many good people in Afghanistan, I’m certain.
Just after seeing that video where the US kids were surrounded and killed has made me upset and very concerned what our mission really is.
Nothing is clear cut. How much longer before a draft is put into place?????
Obama waiting to put pressure on Karzai doesn’t make sense either. Karzai is not going to change. He’s the biggest mountain goat of all because he’s pretending to be a prince.
I don’t care who sees this. I stand by my thoughts.

Fox breeds sheep. Intelligence not required.

By she do you mean he. Ron Paul is the only legitimate superstar.

If the story by FOX News concerning ACORN was a lie, then why did Congress stop the funding to them? If the story on Van Jones was not true, then why did he resign his Czar position? If the story on FOX News about (fill in the blank) was not true……..?

answer to question in headline: Ron Paul

There are no stars in the Republican Party and only one rapidly fading star in the Democratic Party. Politicians should follow the medical oath of do no harm.

As far as FauxNews Corp. they are all a bunch of ##########! – the only thing good regarding their stations is NFL SUNDAY FOOTBALL! Most of their so called “family orintated” shows are very bright – eg: THE SIMPSONS – TRASH!!! Sarah Palin is a hypocritical WITCH who belongs back in Alaska (in the bush country; not in US Politics. The prisoners @GITMO stay there to be tried by Military Tribunal & if found quilty then should be executed by the military standard – a Firing Squad! Better solution is perhaps take them to Times Square & let the people do their own justice methods. I have nothing against anyones religious beliefs as long as they don’t try to rule the world or destroy others in their way these so called Islamic Gehad persons preach. I have known people that are Muslim & they are very nice people. They were from Bosnia where they were persecuted; now they live in a community here in the US & are contributing to our country by raising families & living peacefully. As far as President Obama is concerned – what the heck to the opposition party expect from a person who has only been in office for almost 11 mos.; when he inherited an 8 yr. mess created by the BUSH Administration including 2 wars – one of which was not necessary @ that time – now we have lost too many young people – 1 recently from my community. Rome wasn’t built in a day – well the USA recovery will take more than 1 yr.!!!! Anyway this is how a 66 yr old North Country person feels about some of these topics.
