Quotes of the Day: ‘It’s not a public option, but Democrats say it’s close.’
“It’s not a public option, but Democrats say it’s close.” — ABC’s Jonathan Karl, on a new health-care reform initiative in the Senate
“If it works, it’s going to mean balancing the constituencies all over again — convincing liberals that this is almost as good as a full-on public option, convincing moderates that it’s not as bad as one, then maybe even bringing a Republican or two on board for good measure.” – ABC’s Rick Klein
“There is one very pregnant question…How do you reconcile your role as a commander in chief with your aspirations to promote a more peaceful world at a time of war? That’s a question that he’s going to explore in some detail.” – White House Senior Adviser David Axelrod, on the President’s Nobel Peace Prize acceptance speech, to be delivered Thursday in Oslo
"I wouldn't advise anyone being out in this stuff now." — Wisconsin truck driver Bill Hyde, to WISN-TV, as a blizzard hit several Midwestern states

Pres. Obama’s Nobel acceptance speech will be interesting.
Maybe he’ll say that you have to have war before you have the peace – thus the title of the book: “War And Peace”.
After years of war on terror, I feel so much safer now. Americans are not even afraid of putting the transportation security info on the internet. We are air-tight and confident.
Chief Inspector Closeau is on the job here in America and Afghanistan.

the only “public” option you might receive as a part of this version of Obamacare is if you get put into prison, fine you, or audit you for not giving your money to a private, for-profit corporation. That’s right folks, they want to force you -under penalty of law- to give money to private, for-profit corporate insurance companies! Talk about reform!
Reid: living is NOT like driving. Living is a right, not a privledge. You should be forced to pay simply for living in Obamaland!

Well, It looks like we have a lot of trash to take out in 2010. This is a spit in the face to the American people and makes a sham out of the so-called Democratic process allowing 4 undercover republicans to call the shots on heath care. At least we can vote for some fresh faces and lets make sure they support Legalizing Marijuana as well.

Democrats sold out to the few conservative senators that couldn’t apparently stomach a public option. I’d love to know which constituents these senators are voting for

Yesterday, Barney Frank complained “as I prepare to go to the floor of the House this week to defend a package of tough financial reforms and consumer and investor protections, I confront a hostile, virtually unanimous Republican Party”.
But the Democrats can’t even unify their majority on a cause they have fought more than 20 years to pass.

The Dems have been trying to hget a national healthcare program since WWII and the American people have managed to avoid it every Democratic administration. The government can’t run anything efficiently. Look at the USPS and Amtrac. This healthcare program is nothing but a jobs program for needy democrates.

Thats right. It’s not a public option but it’s close. That’s why the new Dem Health Plan includes allowing Veternarians to have human patients now. They are not MD’s but they are close!!!

Wally, Barney Frank said that about financial reform?
Barney has his nerve! What a piece of work he is!
He either has a very poor memory, or he has alzheimers, or he’s delusional.
Maybe it’s a combination of the three.
Barney is the ### that helped put us in this mess. Some people underestimate what Barney was in charge of and what he failed to do.
ABC? You should do a whole segment on Barney Frank. Expose him once and for all to show what Barney is all about.
He’s one big hypocrite.

Open letter to Harry Reid:
The cry from those favoring a “nanny state” has for months been “just give us the coverage the senate has”!
Well if that’s what is happening then why not trash all those 2000+ pages and 20 pounds of gobbledygook and special interest caveats?
After all wasn’t the “supposed” crisis just that all citizens didn’t have insurance It doesn’t take 2000 pages to solve that.
Put that 20 pound sucker in the trash and start over with something reasonable!

Well, DDG you hit the nail on the head. I think that there isn’t any tight lipped people in any security dept.. Quite unlike back the 1940′s (yes I am old) nothing leaked out, prices froze, we were so secure we squeaked. Plus we all were very frightened, therefore very careful, the optimum saying was “loose lips sink ships”. This still applies to today’s snafu’s.
