Quotes of the Day: ‘…President Bush would have gone largely in this direction’
“I think there’s every possibility that President Bush would have gone largely in this direction, and certainly [Defense Secretary Robert] Gates and [General David] Petraeus are two of the key architects, and of course they were there under Bush as well.” — Michael O’Hanlon, The Brookings Institution, to ABC News, on President Obama’s emerging plan for Afghanistan
“Investments will be based on performance. The era of the blank check for President Karzai is over.” — Senior administration official, to ABC’s Jake Tapper
I think the American public is actually going to be extremely surprised with all the details that went from beginning to end into what was supposed to be a lovely, beautiful evening.” – Tareq Salahi, alleged White House “crasher,” to NBC News
“A lot of people running for office next year, I’ve met with them. They actually want me involved in their campaigns. I want to be helpful, without being hurtful.” — Senator John Ensign, R-Nev., who has acknowledged an affair with a friend and staffer’s wife, making himself available

The one thing I learned during the Bush administration is that whatever he thought was the right direction/decision we should do the opposite!!

Obama is now following in the footsteps of Bush. We don’t actually hear much from the democrats on this. Where’s the news, ABC? What are the democrats in Congress saying. What about the regular citizens who are democrats.
Karzai has money to finance his own government.
Give them exactly one year.
Sink or swim.

When it comes right down to the nitty gritty, being in the office, gets you access to info that is not common knowledge, which very much influences what you do.
This comes as no surprise, whatsoever, to me, personally.

I think former President Bush should immediately speak publicly in favor of the plan that President Obama will describe. Can you imagine how it would be received if Bush simply said, :? Obama would suddenly be strapped with the endorsement of Bush — a man that Obama and his administration have blamed for everything you can think of.

I don’t care who gets the blame or the credit. It needs to end soon.
People are talking about five to ten years.
Give them ONE year.
Sink or swim should be the ultimatum.
We need to tighten up our own security and get the hell out of there.
