Diane Sawyer to Interview President Obama Monday, January 25 on “World News”
Jon Banner, Executive Producer of "World News with Diane Sawyer," reports from New York:
We are headed down to Washington on Monday where Diane will interview President Obama. We have had a long standing request to talk to the President before his State of the Union speech Wednesday night and it comes after arguably the most difficult week for his administration.
There is a lot of ground to cover – that controversial crack-down on the big banks Obama proposed yesterday, the current level of unemployment, and the feasibility of healthcare reform. I also expect Diane will ask him about the state of our mission to fight terrorism overseas.
The interview will air on Monday’s “World News” which Diane will anchor from Washington. There will be more on “Nightline,” Tuesday’s “Good Morning America,” ABCNews.com and ABC News Radio.
Please let us know what questions you want us to ask via Twitter and Facebook.

No softballs Diane. Put his feet to
the fire and ask the tough questions…
you know, pretend he is George Bush.

There are so many deals going on between the Dem. & Rep. with buying votes to pass the health care bill. Isn’t that corruption & bribery and isn’t that a crime? What a waste of OUR money. Thought all this PORK BARREL spending was suppose to be over but the president is as guilty as any blackmail situation would be and I feel it is illegal and a crime. To pay millions of our dollars to certain politicians to buy votes really sends a message to us all. It’s not wrong for government to do this type of crime but for the ordinary person, we’d be in prison. What an example you exhibit. SAD!

Dianne is so one sided. Today it was Michelle person of the week and George interviewing Obama and now she will interview him. Give me a break. Put a reporter from all the newspapers in the country and let them ask Obama questions. I am sick and tired of the staged interviews. I miss Charlie Gibson.

Having Dianne interview Obama is as credible as having Oprah interview him. The touch questions won’t be asked or they will be provided ahead of time.

First George Stephanopolous & now Diane Sawyer? When did ABC “news” people become Obama’s best buddies?
Posted by: PR | January 22, 2010, 8:36 pm 8:36 pm
Will Pres. Obama ever consider dividing the health care reform bill into sections or is it an “all or nothing” deal?
Since corporations have more money than most people, how equal is our “freedom of speech” right? How can an individual compete with corporations in speaking their mind? Why did the “freedom of speech” right go up for sale to the highest bidder?
What protection and guarantees do we have regarding any future failures of banks? Has anything changed?
Can we now look at history and learn from it?
These are the questions I would ask Pres. Obama.

ABC should be OBC Obama Broadcasting Channel.

Why doesn’t Obama allow question from all reporters . He only gives interviews to Dianne, George and of course OPRAH. LOL

We need to ask Diane Sawyer if the questions have to be summated in advance. Other wise it will just be milk and cookies at the Whitehouse again.

Will this make 550 interviews that BO has done this year. BO your job is suppose to be fixing the economy & keeping our country safe. So far you have failed us tax payers. You have saved a auto company that needed to go under and start over. You have given the other half of the TARP money to banks, who have applied that money to bonuses, and your favorite company, ACORN has used fed’l money to support hookers & illegals.

Dianne, I would like you to question the President regarding the healthcare reform bill and the disabled. Whenever healthcare and Medicare are talk about by the President, the Congress, and the media it is always regarding Seniors 65 and over. The millions of disabled people like me who have been on Social Security and Medicare long before age 65 have been ignored as usual. My medical costs are over $600,000 per year due to advanced heart disease that I was diagnosised with at age 42. My annual prescriptions run over $66,000 per year. Medicaid and Medi-cal are already being balanced on our backs, so what can we expect from healthcare reform if it passes? The millions of disabled people in this country deserve an answer.
Thank you,
Christopher Hanna

Diana, please ask BO why he didn’t have any of those closed door meetings with the Democrats on Health care on C-SPAN like he promised.

When I tried to interview Rep. Mary Bono in Palm Desert, California, I was told by her staff that I would be limited to questions submitted by them. I refused; and they refused to grant the interview. It doesn’t seem to matter what political party is involved….the public servants are totally out of touch. I hope Diane Sawyer has a few questions of her own…but I truly doubt it.

wis134 is right, if you pay bribes to get business you go to jail but I guess those rules don’t apply too the President, Congress or the Senate. Health care reform with NO TORT REFORM? The lawyers are our biggest health care problem. All our Prez does is preen in front of toe sucking celebrity reporters it seems, can’t he take a break from the cameras? He has already beaten the Bush golf outing record in his first year and outspent him by 3 to 1. Geesh! I want a govt. job! Please… I’ll be good.

Diane should ask him if he is trying to destroy Medicare on purpose? 500 billion cut out of a system that is already receiving new elderly recipients daily. They almost tarred and feathered W for trying to limit increases to Medicare too 7-1/4 %. The same libs give Obama a pass on butchering Medicare? Sure, go out and fight Medicare corruption but throwing the elderly and disabled under the bus?

Ask him to please stop trying to wreck the economy. This has been an unprecedented recession only because everything he is doing is making it worse.

Diane Sawyer should ask if he thinks the American pepole is behind him now that he has failed. Does he think he will have a 2nd term in office. And why-oh-why did he go to leaders around the world apologizing for what America has done fighting for freedom.

PR…you go to the ‘reporters’ that are going to applaud your talking points, not have the ‘audacity’ to question you!! Notice he hasn’t give the WH Press an interview in MONTHS because he can’t control those questions!!

Ask him where he was born, and to quit fiddling around and show his long form true birth certificate.

Ask him to resign if he wont show his true birth certificate. Ask him why Kenya has built a monument to his birthplace.

Please remind his honest eyes how much the balanced Center matters! He forever talks to his Left – then to his Right, never looks at us, TV multi millions. We need to share his eyes, thus his heart and honesty. As we gratefully appreciate yours, Diane.

I’d like to know when he plans on Manning Up and quit blaming Bush or “the past eight years” for this past year’s problems.

Diane,
I realize that the latest supreme court ruling could be catastrophic for our democracy, which is not really a democracy but a republic. However, quite often problems are opportunities in disguise. Please tell President Obama that this creates the perfect opportunity to convince the American public that we MUST have “public financing” for elections. Or, would they rather their lives be run even more so by the corporations?? It should not be that difficult to include public financing on the upcoming ballot. Think about it. Do we have any other choice??
