Quotes of the Day: ‘You Can’t Win Them All’
Our quotes this morning are on one subject alone – the stunner in Massachusetts:
“We can’t win them all.” — President Obama, quoted by Massachusetts Attorney General Martha Coakley, following Coakley’s loss in that state’s special election for the U.S. Senate
“If you lose Massachusetts and that’s not a wake-up call, there’s no hope of waking up.” – Senator Evan Bayh, D-Ind., to ABC’s Jonathan Karl
“From the agenda of President Obama and the legacy of the late Edward M. Kennedy to a referendum on the Democratic monopolies of power on Capitol and Beacon hills, voters in a lopsidedly Democratic state flooded the polls on a dreary winter day to turn conventional wisdom on its head.” — Brian C. Mooney, The Boston Globe
“It’s frustrating because even I think even a mediocre campaign in Massachusetts probably would have won that election.” — former Obama campaign manager David Plouffe, to ABC’s George Stephanopoulos

I think David Plouffe just got 50 new jobs, as special campaign advisor to all 50 state houses, on behalf of President Obama. Democrats, a year has passed. It is time to wake up and smell the ballot boxes.

Although the reality is Democrats only held a 60 vote margin in the Senate for a bit over six months (Franken was not declared the winner until into July). Six months – how rushed were they suppose to make health care reform?

Can’t wait to hear O say that in 2012! BTW…if they need help packin’ the UHaul I will gladly help with that…the sooner he leaves DC the happier I will be.

So let’s see if I get this, style beats substance?
David Poofer-boy must be a product of pop culture.
NEWS FLASH: The truth is, three things matter most of all, content, content and content.
Always has and always will.

For legislation as big as this they weren’t supposed to rush it at all.
They were supposed to work with the Republicans and get something both sides could agree to.
If NoBo, Reid and Pelosi had worked with that in mind they wouldn’t have so badly mismanaged their health care bill.
The people can read between the lines.
When the Demos lost the ear of moderates such as Snow that spoke volumes.
It meant they weren’t trying to incorporate any Repug ideas into the legislation, rather they just wanted to get some Repugs to vote for an overwhelmingly Demo stained bill.
When that didn’t work, the Demos just went ahead on their own to force the bill through.
In the meantime the American people woke up and didn’t like what they were seeing.
So the question now is, are the Demos now going to try and pass the bill without support from the Repugs and the majority of the American people?

Americans do not like it when something is forced upon them.
Our politicians need to calm down and start over on the health care reform bill. It would be wise if the dems could start with something that most people could agree upon. Start with something small.
Just take that first baby step. People on both sides would respond positively.
It’s not working the way they are doing it now. Try another approach. If not, the dems will be out in the streets very soon. I know Pres. Obama is reading the handwriting on the wall.
Will Pres. Obama play soft ball or hard ball? We’ll see. (the two cliches were in honor of Pres. Obama – I know he loves cliches)
