Best Day Ever: Vonn, White, Davis Golden
It was a record day for Team USA at the Winter Olympics yesterday, with six medals overall and three golds that came from three of the biggest American names: Lindsey Vonn, Shani Davis, and Shaun White. Vonn overcame a bruised shin to win the women's downhill, edging out teammate Julia Mancuso, who earned a surprise silver; Davis defended his 2006 gold in the 1,000-meter speedskating; and snowboarder Shaun White did the same in the men's halfpipe. We noted the Vonn and White medals coming out of our "Men in Tights" Sign of the Times about figure skating flare, but couldn't squeeze in Davis. Our apologies and congratulations.
