Thousands of workers are without pay after Senator Jim Bunning, a Kentucky Republican, singlehandedly blocked the passage of a bill that would extend federal transportation programs and unemployment benefits. Our Senior Congressional Correspondent Jonathan Karl tried to ask Bunning, a Hall of Fame pitcher, about his move today in the heated elevator exchange embedded below and pictured above. Off-camera, Bunning also used an obscene gesture to express his displeasure with our questions. He later explained on the Senate floor that he favored the bill, but wants to see it paid for with money saved by cutting other programs. So tonight, we ask: Is Senator Bunning simply being passionate about his position? Or is he going too far? Tell us what you think.
