Calling All Adam Lambert Fans…

We promised a heads up and here it is… Tomorrow night's "Playlist" — that's Friday, 11:35 p.m. — is already generating a lot of buzz online and on Twitter — as well it should. Never hurts to have the Los Angeles Times spreading the word. Rising superstar Adam Lambert sat down with producer Steven Baker last month at a New York City hotel for an intimate conversation about his musical influences.  The word from Baker is that the shoot looks fantastic and Lambert really opened up about his family and the music that mattered as he grew up. Lambert joins other "American Idol" success stories to appear in the "Playlist" series, including Kelly Clarkson and Jennifer Hudson, whose interview is embedded below. Click HERE for a library of "Playlist" segments. Click HERE to see Lambert with Barbara Walters as one of her 10 most fascinating people of 2009. ——————– UPDATE 2: Here is Baker's write-up about Lambert's all-time favorite tracks – and of course, the interview, "Lambert's Little Secrets." Congrats to Lambert fans for pushing Adam Lambert into Twitter's trend list last night. You set the goal and achieved it.

I hope we can finally make peace with ABC, because I still refuse to watch the network. As long as Adam is banned from performing on ABC the longer Glamberts will not watch this network.ABC, I hope you are monitoring Glamberts/ ABC relationship and perhaps ready to make peace.!!!! However, I’ll be watching your interview, thank you!

I too will be watching, he gives great interviews. His CD is great.

I guess ABC finally woke up and realized that Adam Lambert will get them viewers and ratings. It’s never, ever good to listen to the vocal minority. I’m proud of Adam for forgiving ABC’s homophobic behavior and giving them an interview.

Posted by: HannaB | March 11, 2010, 12:56 pm 12:56 pm

Haven’t watched ABC since they banned the greatest performer of this generation. Guess I will have to forgive because I am not missing a chance to see this amazing man and his Nightline interview!!!

Posted by: Sue L | March 11, 2010, 2:33 pm 2:33 pm

Thank you for the heads up. Rising superstar is right!!! I love Adam and always try to watch anything he is on. The man is amazing both as a singer and a beautiful human being. He is forging a new path and I hope ABC starts giving him the FULL support he deserves and does not keep giving in to those too narrow minded and conservative to appreciate all that he is offering us. Book him back on the shows you cancelled him off and let him perform live. He is at his best live!!!

Posted by: Anna | March 11, 2010, 2:35 pm 2:35 pm

ooooooh this going sound pathetic but what channel is abc???, I never watch that station, but I will now!
Discovering adam lambert and watching his career is the most fascinating thing ever!!like a roller coaster!

Posted by: courtney | March 11, 2010, 2:41 pm 2:41 pm

The way ABC has been treating Adam since the AMA performance was nothing but disgusting. Media should be first in line to push towards progress. Gay people do exist, he hasn’t done anything more than women have been doing since 1980′s.

Posted by: Justin | March 11, 2010, 2:55 pm 2:55 pm

SOOO excited for this! LOL I could listen to Adam sing or just talk forEVAH. Love him!

Posted by: Mel | March 11, 2010, 3:05 pm 3:05 pm

YAY! I always love watching his interviews and performances. He is an open book – and is very talented. Say what you will, he is always very entertaining.

I am so excited about this interview with Adam Lambert. So glad the content will be about the important things i.e. music, career and people who have influenced his life. Thank you Nightline. I’ll be watching and cannot wait.
Thank you!

Posted by: Sharon | March 11, 2010, 3:15 pm 3:15 pm

Have my DVR all set to record this! Can’t wait to see him. Not only is he a phenomonal singer, he is so very sweet, articulate & a fascinating guy to interview. But, I still won’t watch anything else on ABC except when Adam is on. Sorry, ABC’s AMA over-reaction was too retaliatory!

Posted by: SusieQ | March 11, 2010, 3:21 pm 3:21 pm

Ok….peace…ABC. I’ll be watching. Although now I’m upset about Ugly Betty. I loved that show.

Posted by: Danish | March 11, 2010, 3:27 pm 3:27 pm

An Adam Lambert interview is always sure to be exciting, informative and fun. The man is articulate, passionate smart and it doesn’t hurt that he’s drop dead gorgeous to boot. It’s a win,win situation.I’m really looking forward to this appearance.Knock em dead Adam !!

Posted by: Judy | March 11, 2010, 4:12 pm 4:12 pm

If it wasn’t for family and work, I would watch Adam Lambert 24/7, so I will definitely be tuning in to see him Friday night. LOVE HIM!!!!

Posted by: Amanda | March 11, 2010, 4:35 pm 4:35 pm

I will definitely be watching! Thanks for interviewing him. It’s always a treat to hear him speak. His personality and charm are exceeded only by his amazing vocal talent.

Posted by: Gina | March 11, 2010, 5:20 pm 5:20 pm

lol nicum, you’re so right. If you film Adam, we will watch it!
thanks, Nightline!

Posted by: Jennifer | March 11, 2010, 5:35 pm 5:35 pm

Thanks for the heads up. I never miss an opportunity to see the extraordinary Adam Lambert on TV. Love Adam the man as much as I love Adam the singer.

Posted by: MJ | March 11, 2010, 6:21 pm 6:21 pm

A brief appearance at the end of the show and the rest online? Way to have it both ways, ABC. Adam’s fans are suckers if they fall for this.

Posted by: Louise | March 11, 2010, 6:45 pm 6:45 pm

I’ll watch because it’s Adam but ABC is still in the doghouse as far as I’m concerned. I’m glad he’s finding more acceptance overseas as they seem to be in the 21st century unlike ABC and this country who are still in the 16th century.

Posted by: Jo | March 11, 2010, 6:58 pm 6:58 pm

I have boycotted you, ABC, from the moment you banned and blacklisted Adam. I will watch everything that Adam is on. so I will watch the interview, but I’m still upset over what you all did because of a noisy few!!! I hope you think twice about knee jerk reactions in the future.

Posted by: Britte | March 11, 2010, 7:19 pm 7:19 pm

I’m glad to be back watching ABC again. I started watching again when Adam was chosen as one of Barbara Walters top ten most interesting people. I am so happy that Adam will be on Friday night. Whenever I read that Adam will be on, that is the show I prefer to watch. He is so sweet, gorgeous, and talented. I think ABC should think about giving Adam his own show. I also think that someone should tell Jimmy Kimmel that the next time he does a skit about ‘The Handsome Men’s Club’, he should include Adam. He is the epitome of handsome.

Posted by: Wicked Glitter | March 11, 2010, 7:28 pm 7:28 pm

Won’t miss it but ARE YOU SURE YOU HAVE IT ON LATE ENOUGH ABC????
Sorry to say I tried to avoid ABC because of its earlier tantrum after the AMA’s, but will still watch whenever Adam is on.
I guess I lost my filter too but many years ago.

Posted by: gran4adam | March 11, 2010, 7:46 pm 7:46 pm

So when will ABC have Adam on to sing? As much as I love his interviews, that’s what I want to see on ABC–Adam singing.

Posted by: discochik | March 11, 2010, 8:34 pm 8:34 pm

Thanks so much. I love Adam! His music is beautiful, his spirit is sweet, his personality is spell-binding. I will watch any show that Adam appears on.

Posted by: Sadie | March 11, 2010, 8:46 pm 8:46 pm

Great news. Still boycotting ABC for the way they treated Adam. Desperate Housewives had two woman kissing and they had the nerve to boycott Adam. I will watch Adam then I will continue to boycott ABC.

Posted by: nancy | March 11, 2010, 9:13 pm 9:13 pm

I’ll definitely be watching, as long as Adam is on. I love that people recognizes his amazing talent. I can’t get enough of him. My life now is so busy at searching all his latest performances, interviews, charts, etc. It’s exciting, ya know!

I KNEW there was a reason I watch Nightline every night! I’ve loved the show since the Ted Koppel days. I’m a news “junkie,” and the show has a compelling combination of current news stories and human interest pieces. I always enjoy the “Playlist” spots … but this one, for me, will be the ultimate! There’s nothing like learning who influenced and inspired one of the most influential and inspiring artists that has ever arrived on planet Earth (from … wherever)!

Posted by: emerie | March 12, 2010, 4:20 am 4:20 am

I’ll be watching. Actually me and my wife will be watching. We are both big Adam Lambert fans. We saw him at the Fantasy Springs concert. What an amazing talent. We even we out and bought two more sets of tickets for his two Canada performances in April. We are going to make a Holiday around them.

Adam Lambert is a unique and delightful entertainer. Fans have waited a long time for a “powerful, playful and sexy male entertainer.”

Posted by: Juneau | March 12, 2010, 6:48 am 6:48 am

Ha, I agree. IF YOU FILM HIM, WE WILL WATCH! Adam is the most amazing singer/person to come along in years…I for one can’t get enough of him.

Posted by: edol | March 12, 2010, 7:19 am 7:19 am

Fascinating and talented artist. I will be sure to watch this show.

Posted by: Greg | March 12, 2010, 7:44 am 7:44 am

By the for all who read the lies yesterday posted by gossip site about Adam endorsing taking LSD…A fan that has tweeted Adam and got a tweet back from him stated this on my facebook page:
I just got a tweet from him that said reporters are sneaky.
They added in an interview that he urged people to use LSD. This is like what happen with SBo and his opinion, which he has a right to express, about her cd, and how the writers misquoted him to make him sound bitter, etc. You can not trust gossip writers, they lie to sell to naive audiences. It is like they are the online version of the Enquirer…there to spread lies about famous people. Adam is as usual amazing on VH1 acoustic sessions.

Posted by: kat23morgan | March 12, 2010, 10:34 am 10:34 am

What great news! I’m an old “Baby Boomer” (63) and this young man is the most exciting, vibrant talent I’ve EVER seen, and I grew up with Elvis! Can’t rave enough about him. Plus he’s a fantastic “talking head”! Way to go ABC (finally!), I’ll be glued to the tube!
Thanks, I’m sure you’re ratings will show you made the right decision.

Adam does it for me – he’s hot!

I will watch this phenom any time he’s on t.v., any video and any interview. I will listen to any song no matter how old it is. Thank goodness for youtube and his past videos at clubs, etc. Especially Brigadoon…shows you how classy this man is. Ok…I’m 68 yrs. young..love this guy!

Posted by: Sandy | March 12, 2010, 4:56 pm 4:56 pm

If you televise Adam Lambert, I will be watching, always; and there are legions of fans (viewers and advertisement watchers) in my company. Also, I previously posted a comment critical of ABC earlier – never got posted – hhmmmm.

Posted by: MJ | March 12, 2010, 7:44 pm 7:44 pm

I will never miss an interview with Adam Lambert – he has his faults, as we all do, but his way of being as a person is as wonderfully exceptional as is his stunning talent. I so appreciate the human being he is, as much as I appreciate the unlimited talent and what he has to offer us vocally and musically. And by the way, when did we deem candor a bad thing in this society? I was candid in my feelings and criticism of ABC in an earlier post on this thread – I never saw those comments appear!!! But to the point at hand, I encourage anyone reading here to further investigate Adam Lambert’s stunning talent – one does not have to love the entire Lambert package to appreciate and just plain enjoy the amazing music he has to offer us.

Posted by: MB | March 12, 2010, 7:58 pm 7:58 pm

will watch because of Adam

Posted by: leillea | March 12, 2010, 9:35 pm 9:35 pm

Saw the TV Segment and watched on-line. The online vid seems longer and has more content the the TV snippet. He is so interesting to listen to.
And yes, after the East Coast feed Adam Lambert made it to Twitter trending topics for several hours:-)
Yeah Adam… You ROCK ON Dude!

I’m 69,daughters45,46,grandaughter 30, great-grandaughter 2. We are all Adam Lambert fans, which shows his mass appeal. Thankyou for showing this very open playful side, which is so endearing and may put to rest unfair prejudices. He is a phenominal talent and extremely nice guy.

Posted by: Sharon Bunn | March 13, 2010, 4:01 pm 4:01 pm

With all of the flack about the AMA awards, not once did Adam ever disparage ABC despite NYE,Jimmy Kimmel and GMA.He really is a classy, intelligent guy,not at all mean-spirited or petty. He’s this centuries Elvis,Michael Jackson, unique super star that has the talent and charisma to sustain a long and glorius career. They seem to get it overseas.Hopefully we will realize it too. The tv exposure is a good start. Thankyou.

I went out and bought the Bob Marley one he talked about. It’s good. It will be my summer music.
