Carlos Slim Says Move Over, Bill Gates

Meet the new world's richest man. Below are the set-up line from the open and the Bill Weir segment. Plus, ONLY IN AMERICA. Well, not this year — the USA is losing its grip on the world's biggest fortunes — and there's a new top dog south of the border. It's an embarrassment of riches in tonight's Sign of the Times.

Awesome! Maybe some folks will move back? Doubt it. But, maybe, Slim will at least use some of his gain to help out in his own country? Perhaps?

Hi Ed,
I don’t think Carlos will do anything for Mexicans. He hasn’t done so far and won’t do in future.
He can surpass Gates in term of worth but Bill still has much larger heart.

Carlos Slim is definitely old school. He’s of the tried and true guerrilla billionaire strategy: buy lots of businesses and either keep them for the cash flow or fix ‘em up and sell them. The goal is to make money off a lot of deals instead of a killing on just one.

For your information, I’m mexican and if you don’t know how much Slim has done to our country, don’t make comments like “I don’t think Carlos will do anything for Mexicans. He hasn’t done so far and won’t do in future.” cuz he has many programs to help poor people and sick people here in our country.
