UPDATE: The search continues — and the legend of the teenaged "Barefoot Bandit" grows. Colton Harris-Moore has done it again. After 14 hours, an intense manhunt focused on a specific area of Orcas Island, Wash., has been called off. ——————– BREAKING NEWS: We're monitoring some info from our Seattle affiliate KOMO about 18-year-old Colton Harris-Moore, also known as the "Barefoot Bandit." Word from Orcas Island, Wash., is that several law enforcement agencies have converged on an isolated area where they believe the fugitive teen is hiding. If this is him and he is arrested, Harris-Moore could face serious jail time. As reported in this blog post more than a month ago, police believe he's pulled off a string of daring crimes that include stealing airplanes (including the one above), boats and cars, and burglarizing homes in the Pacific Northwest. His story has become a bit of legend — elevating him to folk hero status among some. Embedded below is our profile by Neal Karlinsky, "Fugitive Folk Hero."
