Mitt Romney 2012: Portrait of a Candidate?

Never too early for some 2012 forecasting, and there are plenty of GOP storylines to consider coming out the CPAC and Scott Brown’s trip to Washington.  The Republican Party has whittled potential convention host cities to three: Phoenix, Tampa and Salt Lake City. The Utah site, of course, would offer somewhat of a religious home-game for potential Mormon candidate Mitt Romney. The former Massachusetts Governor and failed ’08 candidate has a new book, “No Apology,” and as Teddy Davis reports, in it, he takes on President Obama while also casting himself as a distinct alternative to Sarah Palin, author of “Going Rogue.” Notably, these two politicians/book writers, are scheduled appear opposite one another tonight as late-night guests. Palin will appear with Jay Leno on “The Tonight Show” while Romney will sit with David Letterman on “Late Show.” Here is the top of the Teddy Davis report: The title of Mitt Romney’s new book, “No Apology: The Case for American Greatness,” is a not-so-subtle jab at the visits President Obama made overseas when he first took office, derided by the right as the “American Apology Tour.” Romney’s book as a whole, however, may best be remembered not for the contrasts it offers with the incumbent president but for the contrasts it presents with “Going Rogue,” the best-selling memoir of Sarah Palin, a potential Romney rival for the 2012 Republican presidential nomination. Where Palin’s book is a mix of score settling and juicy anecdotes, Romney’s book consists of a 64-point plan for strengthening the United States and countless references to what he has been reading. Palin’s book titillated audiences with her take on her husband without his shirt on (“Dang, I thought. Divorce Todd? Have you seen Todd?”). Romney’s readers, by contrast, will have to make do with his take on the decline of the Ottoman Empire and other great powers (easy money and a lack of innovation did them in, in case you were wondering). ——————– UPDATE: Romney also appeared on an ABC show today, joining the women of “The View” as he promotes “No Apology.” As you can see in the clip embedded below, the discussion wasn’t all light and fluffy.

Mitt has talked about bombing Iran. Another warmonger who will send the young to die using borrowed money from China or the Fed’s printing press. If he adopted a Ron Paul approach to things, I might give him a second look, but right now he wants to bomb Muslims and create more debt and hatred.

From the sounds of that synopsis Mitt Romneys book has almost nothing in common with Sarah Palin’s both in format and in pure content.
This was his opportunity to get in writing some of the clearer points that he’s come to believe in. Remember this is an extremely brilliant Harvard MBA graduate. His life is full of success stories from his jobs, his education, his family, his help with the Olympics, getting to run for President and aiding other elections.
Let’s consider what makes this man a great man . . . his wise choices and diligence.

I said on inauguration day that American did not know what it had done. It didn’t. The events and attitudes of the left have unfolded to the letter of what we all thought would happen when Barak Obama was elected in a media coup. We seem to crave drama more than common sense and proven competence.
Mitt Romney would be a fantastic presdient. Most honest people don’t argue that. Leftist bigots don’t count. They just have loud microphones anyway. There aren’t as many of them as they want you to think, thank heavens. Sensible center voters are recognizing this man’s tremendous potential and proven record.
Things are lookin’ better for all of the us the further Barak Obama’s approval ratings slide.
If Mitt can get the nomination in 2010 if he wants it, I don’t think America will know how good of a decision it can make with this guy.
I hope you all will forgive my spelling errors.
God Bless America!

Hey “huh”
WHAT?! Really? My lord you have demonstrated that you have no comprehension of Gov. Romney or his views on Iran. You Ron Paul supporters have such one-track minds. Quit believe all that your conspiracy theorist buddies tell you.

Romney said it all in the republican debates. Go have a listen. If it is a conspiracy theory then it came right from the buffoons mouth.

We owe Ralph Nader and Cynthia McKinney an apology. They were right about Barack Obama.
They were right about the corporate state. They had the courage of their convictions and they stood fast despite wholesale defections and ridicule by liberals and progressives.
Obama lies as cravenly, if not as crudely, as George W. Bush.
He promised us that the transfer of $12.8 trillion in taxpayer money to Wall Street would open up credit and lending to the average consumer. The Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. (FDIC), however, admitted last week that banks have reduced lending at the sharpest pace since 1942.
As a senator, Obama promised he would filibuster amendments to the FISA Reform Act that retroactively made legal the wiretapping and monitoring of millions of American citizens without warrant; instead he supported passage of the loathsome legislation.
He told us he would withdraw American troops from Iraq, close the detention facility at Guantánamo, end torture, restore civil liberties such as habeas corpus and create new jobs. None of this has happened.

For me Going Rogue by Sarah Palin is one good read, I wonder if Mitt Romney’s new book will be a anything for people to get much. Sarah’s book is a hit and Matt needs to work abit harder, with Sarah hitting the headlines now and then, it a tough call for him.

MITT ROMNEY is already picked by the secret government/elite to be the U.S. Corporation President. Obama was a one term Pres to do the damage which was the change to usher in the eventually the NEW AGE ORDER. First though the New World Order comes in and fails and is replaced with the REAL ONE which will be the NEW AGE. It’s a done deal. The acting will all take place now for the show as the world is the stage. What I am telling you is true.

Mitt Romney is every aspect is the most qualified candidate for the oval office. He is an expert in taking busineses and organizations who are finacially struggling, fixing the problem is making them succesfful. He has done that for hundreds of the biggest businesses in the country as well as savng the SLC olympics. This is what he has done for the past 20 years. Our economy is hurt and needs someone with real private sector experience to fix it. We dont need anymore clueless life-long politicions who only care about gettng re-elected. Mitt Romney is the only real hope this country has.

Mitt Romney was the 70th Governor of Massachusetts from Jan 2.2003 to Jan 4.2007. During his one term the Buzzards Bay oil spill happened during April 2003 .
On April 27, 2003, eight years ago the Bouchard Barge B-120 hit an obstacle in Buzzards Bay, creating a 12-foot rupture in its hull and discharging an estimated 100,000 gallons of No. 6 oil. The oil is known to have affected an estimated 90 miles of shoreline, killed 450 numerous bird species, and recreational use of the bay, such as shell fishing and boating.
Since the 2003 oil spill the US Coast Guard has appealed the 2004 Massachusetts Oil Spill Prevention Act and one Massachusetts property damage lawsuit has dragged on for eight years. Republican Mitt Romney is laying the groundwork for a possible White House campaign in 2012, hiring a team of staff members and consultants.
