Monster Wave Riding With Laird and Dave

Amazing HD pictures — many of them shot by "Nightline" producer Alyssa Litoff — from the high surf and at home in Hawaii during a winter where storm systems have made the waves more epic than ever. Laird Hamilton: "The challenge of trying to ride giant waves like this is worthy of a life." Dave Kalama: "You're playing a little bit of Russian Roulette, you're rolling the dice every time you catch a wave." There is also a pretty thorough description and video of hydrofoils in action, something I don't think I had seen before that looks insane.
