ABC's Marlei Martinez reports from London: Just when you think you’ve tried it all. A pizzeria in Northern England brings toppings to a whole new level. Yummy Yummy Italia is a pizza joint for the brave of heart, as their hottest items on the menu include zebra, kangaroo, crocodile, buffalo and venison-topped pizzas. Arash Fard moved to the small “sleepytown” of Burnley, England from Iran and opened up Yummy Yummy around 15 months ago. “I go for different recipes,” he said. “I’m adventurous.” Fard said his inspiration for the wild meat toppings were frogs’ legs. “I’ve seen someone using frog legs on pizza, and I found it interesting,” he said. “I see other meats available these days. I tried [zebra meat] and it tastes very nice, so I thought, ‘Why not?’” If given the choice between beef, chicken or zebra pizza, Fard said he’d go with a slice of the zebra pizza hands-down. “It’s tastier. It tastes like beef, but slightly sweeter,” Fard explained. “And it’s healthier as well. It’s got less cholesterol.” Fard ships in his exotic meats from all over the world, the kangaroo meat from Australia and the zebra meat from South Africa. Yummy Yummy has only been open for a little more than a year now, but he said he has yet to hear any complaints from animal rights’ group. “I invite them to come,” Fard said. “I’d like to know what they think.” From kangaroo and zebra to crocodile and venison pizza, the real question is – Does Yummy Yummy Italia serve any ‘regular’ pizzas? “Yes, we have normal pizzas,” Fard said with a laugh. “But we usually try to get [customers] to add something to it.”
