RIP Corey Haim 1971-2010

Sad news for 1980s film fans. Corey Haim, an original child star in classics like “Lucas” and “Lost Boys” and former teen idol, died early this morning of an apparent drug overdose, according to California police. He was transported from his mother’s North Hollywood home to a local hospital, but could not be resuscitated. Dan Harris interviewed Haim, along with frequent co-star and fellow “Corey” Corey Feldman, in summer 2007 for this “Nightline” report. The two talked about the pressures facing the new class of child stars such as Lindsay Lohan, who at the time was in a downward spiral after a high-profile arrest for cocaine possession. “It is watching a person who is doing movies, singing, very talented, very pretty, doing what I did,” Haim said. “And it is just, she doesn’t realize that she’s getting sick. She doesn’t realize she’s sick…For me, rock bottom was I couldn’t even look in the mirror anymore.” Corey Haim had struggled for years with drug addiction. He was 38. Embedded below is the interview with the “Two Coreys.” Will update with details as they come.
