“World News with Diane Sawyer” Narrows Demo Gaps with NBC Week-to-Week & Year-to-Year

Marks Smallest Weekly Demo Gap this Year

 

Year-to-Year Total Viewing Gap Also Shrinks

 

For the week of March 22nd, “ABC World News with Diane Sawyer” averaged 7.39 million Total Viewers and a 1.7/7 among Adults 25-54 according to Nielsen Media Research. Week-to-week, “World News” increased its demo audience by 6% and its Total Viewing audience by 2%.

 

Compared to the previous week, “World News” closed the demo gap with “NBC Nightly News” by 5%, marking the smallest demo gap between the two programs since New Year’s week.  Year-to-Year, “World News” closed the demo gap with “Nightly News” by 17% and the Total Viewing gap by 13%.

 


Note: CBS Evening News weekly average is based on three days (Mon-Wed) due to NCAA Basketball. Diane Sawyer anchored “World News” Monday through Wednesday and David Muir anchored Thursday and Friday.

 

Last week on “World News,” Diane Sawyer sat down for an exclusive interview with Speaker Nancy Pelosi, her first interview after passing health care reform legislation.  Additionally, “World News” continued its special-series “The Comeback: Saving America’s Middle Class” featuring reporting by David Muir.
