ABC NEWS’ GEORGE STEPHANOPOULOS TO ANCHOR “GOOD MORNING AMERICA” FROM PRAGUE, ST. PETERSBURG AND MOSCOW APRIL 8-12

Stephanopoulos to Conduct Exclusive Interviews with President Barack Obama and Russian President Dmitry Medvedev

 

As President Barack Obama and Russian President Dmitry Medvedev meet to sign the new START treaty in Prague, ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos will anchor “Good Morning America” from the region and conduct exclusive interviews with both leaders.

 

On Thursday, April 8, Stephanopoulos will anchor the morning broadcast from Prague during the historic treaty signing. While there, he will sit down with President Obama for an exclusive interview that will air on Friday’s “Good Morning America” and across ABC News’ platforms.

 

Stephanopoulos then travels to Russia, where he’ll anchor “Good Morning America” from St. Petersburg on Friday, April 9 and from Moscow on Monday, April 12. In addition to sitting down with President Medvedev for a rare interview, he will report on the challenges facing the “new Russia.”

 

Excerpts of Stephanopoulos’ interviews will be featured across ABC News’ broadcasts and platforms, including “World News with Diane Sawyer,”  “Nightline,” ABC News Radio, ABCNews.com, and ABC NewsOne.

 

 “Good Morning America,” the Emmy Award-winning morning news program featuring the anchor team of Robin Roberts, George Stephanopoulos, Sam Champion and Juju Chang, airs live Monday through Friday from 7:00-9:00 a.m., ET on the ABC Television Network. Jim Murphy is the senior executive producer and Tom Cibrowski is the executive producer of ABC’s “Good Morning America.”
