“THIS WEEK” IS #2 AMONG TOTAL VIEWERS AND ADULTS 25-54 – OUTPERFORMS “FACE THE NATION” FOR THE WEEK
“THIS WEEK” EXPERIENCES MOST WEEK TO WEEK GROWTH IN BOTH TOTAL VIEWERS AND A25-54
According to Nielsen Media Research, ABC News “This Week” was the number two program on Sunday, April 11, 2010 among both Total Viewers and the Adults 25-54 demographic, outperforming CBS’ “Face the Nation.” In addition, ABC posted its best numbers in both Total Viewers and A25-54 since February while CBS dropped to its lowest numbers in a month.
Compared to the other Sunday programs, “This Week” experienced the most week-to-week growth in Total Viewers (+15%) and in the demo (+11%). Also week-to-week, “This Week” narrowed the demo gap (130,000) with NBC’s “Meet the Press” by 19%. Among Total Viewers, “This Week” cut into “Meet’s” weekly lead by 17%, making it the smallest weekly gap between the two programs since December, 2009.
Last Sunday ABC the program featured an interview with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Secretary of Defense Robert Gates and an exclusive interview with Senators Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and Jon Kyl (R-AZ). The round table featured George Will, Arianna Huffington, Cokie Roberts and Sam Donaldson.
Ian Cameron is the executive producer. ABC News Senior White House Correspondent Jake Tapper is the interim anchor. The program airs Sundays on the ABC Television Network.
