At least 7 million gallons of crude have gushed into the ocean so far from the BP oil spill, but it can be hard to grasp the size of the spill when you hear those figures. Google Maps engineering manager Paul Rademacher has made it a lot easier to understand. Harnessing Google Earth and government data, he's created a site where you can compare the size of the spill to something easier to relate to — say New York, Houston or any other city you like.
